Buckberry Lodge 5 BR/ 4.5 bath log cabin FIVE NIGHT MINIMUM

Buckberry Lodge is a 5 BR/ 4.5 bath log cabin set in a lush landscape of perennials and native rhododendrons. This home has three levels and is perfect for one couple, or sharing with friends or extended family. The main level offers: fully equipped kitchen which is open to the ‘Old Hickory’ dining area. The two story living area has a wood-burning fireplace, Cable TV, VHS/DVD with plenty of comfortable gathering spaces. Screened dining porch and open deck with stainless gas grill. Mst. BR (Queen) has a private screened porch and large bathroom with shower and jetted tub. There’s a half bath just off the entry foyer. The upper level has a full bath in the loft area between the guest bedrooms. (2 twins, Queen) The lower level has a family room with wood burning fireplace, billiard table and accessories, small TV/VHS. The lower deck has porch swings and other seating and is accessible from the family room and both lower guest bedrooms (Queens in each BR- one has a private bath, and the other shares a hallway bath). The laundry area is on the lower level. Large backyard area with a small trail that ends up at a nice cool creek. Buckberry Falls is a small, private community, tucked away, yet convenient to shopping, restaurants, hospital, hiking, and more. Main Street Highlands (about 4 miles) and Cashiers (about 10 miles).

NO Pets and NO smoking.

This home FIVE NIGHT minimum, except for HOLIDAYS AND SOME LOCAL EVENTS. If you reserve through VRBO, and anything less than the five night minimum is accepted, your reservation will be cancelled.

Good Location, Needs an Exterminator

The house is well-located between Downtown Cashiers and Highlands, but it clearly has not been rented or used recently. The beds were dusty, there were dead bugs in all the window sills, we had to kills spiders and ants every day inside the house, towels and linens were old and low quality. If you have multiple cars, there is no room to turn around in the driveway and getting in and out of it is difficult. Overall very average and probably the dirtiest VRBO I’ve ever stayed in.

Beautiful cabin in a fabulous area.

Location is perfect between Highlands and Cashiers. Lots of room for a large group. The pool table was a hit! The cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We will definitely visit again. Many thanks to the host!

Great home for family gathering in the Highlands

This was a great property to rent for a family gathering near Highlands. The management company was very welcoming and the home was as described online. Would highly recommend to anybody that needs a large home for family or friends.

Great House in Highlands, NC

My family had a wonderful time staying at 170 Buckberry Road. The house was clean and plenty big for our group of seven. Further, the location was perfect as it was between Highlands and Cashiers, and near several great hiking trails and waterfalls. We did not encounter any problems during our stay. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to return in the future.

Absolutely wonderful cabin in Highlands

The cabin was perfect! The only thing that was not perfect is that the maids put soiled dirty towels back in the closet and up on the rack as if they were clean. That was the colored towels downstairs. Each one smelled like someone’s body odor. They did it clean under the bed my 3 year old found a condom wrapper. Other than that the cabin itself was perfect! Just need a different cleaning team.

Great Cabin Rental

The cabin was exactly the 'cabin feel' we wanted. It was spacious and cozy. They could use a few more throw blankets, but beyond that, they had everything we needed and wanted. We loved the location - in nature, but close to town. Town was this adorable set of local shops and restaurants, with the mountains visible in the back. Would definitely rent again. My only complaint is the home was not cleaned upon arrival. We were approved for early check in at 2:00. The place hadn't been touched when we got there. We called and they came immediately. The cleaning crew did a nice job, but were not finished until nearly 5:00 - an hour after the original check in time.

What a wonderful place

The house was great. We had a great time. Kitchen was wonderful! Family area was exciting al! Nice bathrooms, porches, decks. Loved the area! Just a few little things: We found 2 dead mice upon arrival. Shower curtains liners should be changed....mildew. A couple of lightbulbs need changing. Mattress in master bedroom and upstairs Queen were very uncomfortable.

Could be a great place, but falls short

This house is large and spacious. It has a beautiful notched-wood cabin like feel, but at the same time is solid with two screened in porches, a huge deck, and while not a mountain view, has a great feel as though you are in the country, but just off of the main road into Highlands. But the maintenance is terrible. Two lamps had no bulbs in them. one hot July afternoon we went to put on the AC to cool the house down- the wireless controllers did not work- batteries were dead. One upstairs bedroom has a window with no window shades. The bedding all around is very poor, especially the master bedroom queen bed. This bedding is either 25 years old or has been abused. Great garden in the front overgrown with years worth of weeds, backyard the same way. New bedding all around and some serious TLC, and I would give this place 5 stars, but it has a long way to go.

Great location! Needs some updates

The property location was perfect! The house was a great size but the bedding was uncomfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and the multiple levels was great for multiple families. The landscaping was overgrown but the house was in good condition.

Convenient to highlands or cashiers. Just off Hwy 64 but you feel like your miles in the woods!

Took my team to photograph/video a wedding weekend at a local club. 5 of us stayed here with plenty of privacy. Several porches and beautiful backyard. It was easly to get in and out, was clean and spacious. Had all the typical essentials! I would highly recommend for a work stay or for vacation. Another review mentioned not having trash service but the dump wa kess than 2 miles away and was open at 9am on Sunday. Only negative if you can call it a negative since your in such beautiful surroundings is that the television is tiny.

Great Property close to town
