Buckberry Lodge 5 BR/ 4.5 bath log cabin FIVE NIGHT MINIMUM

Buckberry Lodge is a 5 BR/ 4.5 bath log cabin set in a lush landscape of perennials and native rhododendrons. This home has three levels and is perfect for one couple, or sharing with friends or extended family. The main level offers: fully equipped kitchen which is open to the ‘Old Hickory’ dining area. The two-story living area has a wood-burning fireplace, a Smart TV*, and plenty of comfortable gathering spaces. Screened dining porch and open deck with stainless gas grill. Mst. BR (Queen) has a private screened porch and large bathroom with shower and jetted tub. There’s a half bath just off the entry foyer. The upper level has a full bath in the loft area between the guest bedrooms. (2 twins, Queen) The lower level has a family room with a wood-burning fireplace, a billiard table and accessories, and a small TV/VHS. The lower deck has porch swings and other seating and is accessible from the family room and both lower guest bedrooms (Queens in each BR- one has a private bath, and the other shares a hallway bath). The laundry area is on the lower level. Large backyard area with a small trail that ends up at a nice cool creek. Buckberry Falls is a small, private community, tucked away, yet convenient to shopping, restaurants, hospital, hiking, and more. Main Street Highlands (about 4 miles) and Cashiers (about 10 miles).

*Smart TV makes it easy for you to watch your favorite programming using your own channels and passwords.

This home requires a minimum of FIVE NIGHTS, except for HOLIDAYS AND SOME LOCAL EVENTS, which may require a minimum of one week. If you reserve through VRBO, and anything less than the five-night minimum is accepted, your reservation will be canceled.

The property manager/rental office for this property is a small-town business and we’ve been renting properties for over 30 years. We use VRBO/Homeaway for rental leads/reservations. A portion of your rental proceeds goes to VRBO/Homeaway for their service.

Beautiful cabin in a fabulous area.

Location is perfect between Highlands and Cashiers. Lots of room for a large group. The pool table was a hit! The cabin is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We will definitely visit again. Many thanks to the host!

Great home for family gathering in the Highlands

This was a great property to rent for a family gathering near Highlands. The management company was very welcoming and the home was as described online. Would highly recommend to anybody that needs a large home for family or friends.

The property location was perfect! The house was a great size but the bedding was uncomfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and the multiple levels was great for multiple families. The landscaping was overgrown but the house was in good condition.

Great House in Highlands, NC

My family had a wonderful time staying at 170 Buckberry Road. The house was clean and plenty big for our group of seven. Further, the location was perfect as it was between Highlands and Cashiers, and near several great hiking trails and waterfalls. We did not encounter any problems during our stay. I would definitely recommend this property and hope to return in the future.

What a wonderful place

The house was great. We had a great time. Kitchen was wonderful! Family area was exciting al! Nice bathrooms, porches, decks. Loved the area! Just a few little things: We found 2 dead mice upon arrival. Shower curtains liners should be changed....mildew. A couple of lightbulbs need changing. Mattress in master bedroom and upstairs Queen were very uncomfortable.

Good Location, Needs an Exterminator

The house is well-located between Downtown Cashiers and Highlands, but it clearly has not been rented or used recently. The beds were dusty, there were dead bugs in all the window sills, we had to kills spiders and ants every day inside the house, towels and linens were old and low quality. If you have multiple cars, there is no room to turn around in the driveway and getting in and out of it is difficult. Overall very average and probably the dirtiest VRBO I’ve ever stayed in.

The checkin process was easy. The rental office was not far from the house , which was convenient. The house was clean upon arrival . Communication with the rental office was great - very responsive to questions or concerns. Very quiet location. Check out instructions were minimal with easy key drop off. Only complaint is that there is no trash service at the house. Although the transfer station (convenience center) is close by, we had to make a run every day to get rid of trash and recycle. Otherwise, a great stay and perfect for a large group. Would recommend staying here if you are in the beautiful Highlands area.

Plenty of room as described, location was great as we played golf and took in activities at the beautiful Old Edwards Club and The Saddle at Glen Cove. Great customer service as we did not know how to program the AC (it was a new unit and required Blue Tooth) but Mr. Chambers came over and took care of the only issue that we had. We will be back at Thanksgiving!!!Thank you!

Thanksgiving Get-A-Way

In my case there was my wife and myself, and two daughters and there family...we all had our own floor! The kitchen had everything you need to prepare a large meal. The property was close to town and secluded. Abundant things to do; shopping, zip lining, sight seeing...there are numerous waterfalls nearby and in our case a slope for sledding. On the down side the house is drafty and groceries are expensive. We missed the colors of fall but I would not hesitate to book the property again.

Nice mountain house
