Dogwood Cottage is the perfect balance of serenity and proximity to town. Enjoy shopping and world class dining just minutes away or simply relax on the covered porches with a book and glass of wine. The well-appointed kitchen and gas grill provide an excellent combination for a night of entertaining family and friends. Take delight in a beautiful sunrise over Satulah Mountain from the front porch or unwind after a full day of activities on the private, covered back porch with wood burning stack stone fireplace and 60" flat screen TV.
Dogwood Cottage boasts one level living with step less back entry, two master suites, each with ensuite bathrooms and luxurious bedding. The kitchen is fully stocked and features quartz counter tops with custom cabinetry, opening to the beautiful living room with gas stone fireplace, 55" TV and lovely dining table seating 4-6. Dogwood Cottage will entice you with its elegant interiors and peaceful outdoor living spaces.

You will find yourself surrounded by the picturesque mountain views, roaring waterfalls, rivers, streams, bountiful vegetation and ample hiking trails throughout the Nantahala National Forest. People flock here to enjoy the great outdoors, hospitality, culture, live music, theater, shopping, fine dining, festivals and the captivating charm of Highlands.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful home! It was one of the most well-stocked rental homes we’ve ever stayed in and had seasonings and cooking supplies on hand, hiking gear, tons of magazines to read by the fire on the evenings, I could go on and on. The location was perfectly situated close to town but in a residential area that still feels remote and private. The hosts were very responsive and accommodating, too. This is already on our list to return to next year!

Chris and Joy's home is everything you would want and expect for a wonderful stay in Highlands. Proximity to main street, clean, well stocked with everything you need. Lovely back yard and covered sitting area. Would definitely stay again in the future.

This was the most wonderful place. We have very limited experience with renting houses, and this was a very good experience!! The house was very clean, well-appointed, and very nicely decorated. It was close to town and convenient to stores and restaurants. Any questions we had during our stay were immediately answered by the host. We VERY MUCH enjoyed the outdoor fireplace on the back porch. We will definitely return to this house to experience all the seasonal changes!! A 5-star visit!!

Pros: Location is an easy drive into town. And less than a 2 mile walk. Quiet an quirky neighborhood and friendly neighbors. Great roads to walk our dog. Accommodations: Beautifully decorated with modern amenities. Fully stocked kitchen and luxury spa toiletries in the bathrooms. The furniture is very comfortable. Chris and Joy have a made a beautiful cottage for their guests to enjoy. Cons: Can't think of anything. We highly recommend their Dogwood Cottage to folks traveling to Highlands, NC. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

The hosts made the process so seamless and even accomodated and early xheck in request last minute. The home looks even better than shown in the pictures. It was so cozy, beautifully decorated and the indoor fireplace was our favorite. The short drive to town made the trip even better! We will definitely be coming back again, they literally thought of everything!

We’ve stayed at a lot of rentals in Highlands and this one is in the top 3. Everything we needed for our family and it has a perfect set up for our dogs. We will definitely be back. I hate it we had to leave early.
