âïž Community Information:
Shelter Cove has evolved over the years into the islandâs hub. Located mid island, this Mediterranean- styled marina (repeat winner this year for best marina on the island) has it all: watersports, dining, shopping, entertainment and extraordinary views. No matter the time of day or night, the wrap-around boardwalk is filled with dog walkers, families enjoying the sights or couples sharing quiet moments on the benches located along the walkway. Spring and summer are when Shelter Cove really comes to life. Nightly entertainment at the gazebo, festivals and events of every kind, including the fabulous Memorial Day Arts Festival. Most memorable is the always popular 30th year, Tuesday night firework extravaganza, Harbourfest, featuring vendors, music and kidsâ activities, culminating in a great firework display at dusk. (We have heard a rumor of something special planned for the 250 th anniversary of the USA this year!) Enjoy kayaking, rent a boat for a quick cruise down the waterway, go cruise and watch some dolphins or just enjoy the beauty of the âback side of the island.â
Trident Rentals is proud to offer this beautiful villa in Shelter Cove and awaits your arrival!
We rented the condo for Thanksgiving week. It was very comfortable and spacious and the location was great. it had a great view of the marina and was convenient to shopping and restaurants.
Two small design issues with the condo, that future renters should be aware of.:
1. There are no ceiling fans. This was not a problem in November, but I could see it being a problem in the middle of the summer.
2. The master bedroom suite has no door between the toilet and the bedroom area, which we found a little awkward.
Super place with great views of the Shelter Cove marina. Plenty of activities nearby like boating, fishing, canoeing, beach, horse trails and biking. Biking to the grocery stores and restaurants made it very convenient. The villa was a great space for 6 adults. Kitchen well equipped to cook and eat dinner as a family. Lots of outside balconies. Only improvements to suggest is to get a hairdryer per bathroom there was only one in the unit. Also more start up paper supplies would be more accommodating for guests.
The unit is very nice and in a great location. The furnishings were very good & all showers have been upgraded. Every room has a great view. There was a large wagon in the unit to use to bring in luggage/groceries. The only complaints I have were with the kitchen and the smart TV. While the kitchen appliances appear to be new (all digital), the ice maker/water dispenser wasn't working but someone did leave a large bag of ice in the freezer. The stove top was difficult to cook on. When a burner got hot it took a very long time to cool down to medium or low. The oven temperature wasn't consistent either. We have an electric stove so it wasn't operator error. The property manager or owner should do an inventory of kitchen dishes and pots/pans & replace where necessary. We always bring our own skillets but the selection of other pans here was limited & only I pan had a lid (large stockpot), there were no mixing bowls other than small type cereal size bowls & only a minimum number of plates (6 glass & 4 plastic dinner size). If you're not planning to cook then these things won't matter to you. The smart TV in the living room had streaming channels but they didn't load very well & we had a very difficult time removing our Netflix password. A Google search finally helped us figure that out.
