On the page it says that there is parking available for ¥500, but when you get to the hotel there aren't any signs telling you were to park. I ended up having to park in a random paid lot a couple blocks away from the hotel. When you take the escalator up to the lobby it appears that the hotel is pretty nice. On check in the gentleman asked if I had a car and to put down my plate to pay. He then showed me a map of where to park, it was already too late for that. Once you take the elevator to the floors with the rooms it looks pretty aged and could use some updates. The room was on the smaller side and was clean. The bed was very firm with a single small and extremely flat pillow. Would I stay here again? Probably not, I don't think I received enough value for the amount that it cost to stay here, as it was pretty expensive.

Tanbo art Trip to Hirosaki - Sept 2018
Posted Sep. 18, 2018 on HotelsThe hotel is 15 to 20 min away from the JR train station so location wise it is not convenient if you will be using train. Hotel itself is pretty basic - small room but it is ok to crash for a night or two. The carpeting in the rooms needs changing - looks pretty bad. Breakfast is also pretty basic but for an extra $7 its ok. At least one person on the front desk staff can speak English and they are all polite and helpful. wifi signal was strong in my room so no complaints there. Local area is all commercial with many shops and restaurants. Hirosaki castle and park are about 15 min walk and are worth seeing.
Overall its an ok place to crash for a night if you are a solo traveller like me but I will not stay there again because of the distance from JR train station.

I have stayed at many hotels in Japan and the Smile hotel in Hirosaki has the most comfortable bed. They have a memory foam mattress topper and a nice pillow.

お心遣いが魅力
Posted Oct. 26, 2020 on Hotels
