The furnishings in the room were great. Well beyond its price-point. Comfortable bed, nice linen, tea & coffee making with biscuits etc. Bathrooms are large and modern with good showers and walk in.
Only downside is noise... you have to expect it over a pub with noise of an an evening of people enjoying themselves and then the compressor pump when that was finished. I just put on some white noise to sleep.
Food in the pub is also great and service friendly. I'd definitely stay again
We loved this place, the staff was friendly and the bar was good. We like the cleanliness of the room and the hotel, but the bathroom could use some extra effort.
We have stayed previously and we were very happy with our accommodation. But this trip we were given room 4 which was very dirty and seemed like a storage room with bar stools in the bathroom. But I must say the restaurant food was wonderful as with our previous visit.
Great to see a heritage property brought back to life in a country town. We were satisfied with everything about our stay - almost. The only problem was that our room's windows overlooked the kitchen. No problems with noise while it was functioning but later the clean up staff had load music playing until well-past midnight. We'll stay here again if we can get a quieter room.
This should have been a 4/5 star stay. The room was clean, meal options good, staff friendly, etc. The problem was that room #3 seemed to be situated above every compressor, generator, dryer in the hotel and they ran all night!
I had to close the door to the bathroom because it was acting as a speaker for all the vibrations. Even with the door closed, I was woken several times during the night because the sound seemed to be in the room with me (I checked the mini-fridge and it wasn't the source of the noise).
If you are a deep sleeper, then maybe this room is fine for you. Otherwise, staying in this room as a halfway point for the Sydney-Melbourne drive is not a good idea. Better to stay at the Holbrook Motel (same owners I think).
