Trip was cut short due to a lack of hot water. The real issue was tied to the resolution of the problem.7:16 AM - Text host that we found out in the morning that the place had no hot water available. Verified with the host it was supposed to have hot water. Was told they would check with the team if there were a breaker or something that may have tripped.Decide to run into town for some breakfast while the issue is looked into.9:58 AM - Receive text from host asking if I'm handy and requested to check the breaker down by the dock. Then asked to re-light the pilot light to the hot water heater. Also said someone from maintenance can look at it that day (why was this not just done immediately?)10:47 AM - Text host if we can just cut the trip shot and be refunded the last night.11:06 AM - Host text back they are sending someone down to look at it.(someone came down and wasn't able to resolve the issue)11:20 AM - Host text an apology saying it won't be quick fix and that we would be refunded the last night, but could still stay if we like.It has now been 15 days and no refund has been provided. Also how crazy is it to ask the guest to check a break and light a pilot light? Asking a guest to do something electrical or with gas seems like a safety issue?
We had a very nice stay in the Yurt. Everything inside was perfect. It would have been really perfect outside too, but the outdoor string lights were broken. The Fire Pit was perfect, though. It was definitely a hike to and from the parking lot. But the weather was so nice and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
