Piper Cottage (2), Holme-next-the-Sea, Norfolk
This 300 year old luxurious and stylish Grade II listed flint cottage in the coastal village of Holme-next-the-Sea is the perfect love nest for two. Piper Cottage is fabulously styled with original beams, thick stone walls and a wood burning stove. Just a short stroll to the beach and very close to the village pub, which now features a coffee shop and bakery, you can enjoy a fresh croissant to complement your morning walk.
Step inside and you're guaranteed to fall in love almost immediately. The owner, who is an interior designer, has styled the property carefully using a palette of soft greys and blues, which reflects the coastal location and little touches make this place very special whatever time of year you choose to visit. Walk into the living space and take a seat on the soft sofa or one of the easy chairs. With dining space for four, you can look forward to supper over a glass of wine or simply write postcards home. Off the sitting room you'll find a beamed kitchen with modern painted units, granite worktops and a Butlers sink which blends perfectly with the interior of the cottage. Perfectly formed and well-equipped, you'll find everything you need to cook up a treat, using locally caught seafood and shell fish and some fabulous local produce, all available locally within a five mile radius.
Climb the Norfolk winder staircase to the first floor where you'll discover the beautiful master bedroom, hosting a stunning king-size bed with quality linens, soft feather pillows, duvets and soft furnishings. Next door you'll find a super shower room and a separate WC. Outside you have a pretty south facing paved courtyard to enjoy, with garden furniture provided so you can soak up the rays and enjoy a leisurely coffee. There is also an additional small gravelled seating, relaxing, eating area at the rear of the cottage - both outside areas are fenced and dog proof.
On a practical note there is also a spacious utility room which comes with the property which is located in an outbuilding, just a few steps from the row of cottages. Here you'll find a washing machine, Butlers sink, barbecue base and additional fridge/freezer.
Piper cottage is nestled in the heart of this quiet village, close to the recently refurbished pub, serving great food, and only a short 15 minute stroll across the golf course to the sandy beach. The pub now features a coffee shop and bakery, so indulge in fresh morning croissants. Just a short drive away there are numerous other pubs and restaurants, shops and galleries in both Thornham and Old Hunstanton and of course the whole of the coast is just waiting to be explored. If you enjoy golf, then head to the famous links course at Old Hunstanton, a five minute drive away or you can walk the course from Holme.
This property is also available as a sleeps four option with the second floor bedroom open, listed as Piper Cottage.
Additional Information: One well behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Children over the age of five years welcome. Access Note: The stairs are steep and narrow, typical of local properties in this area.
Great location if you want to get away from it all, the cottage is well decorated and all of the rooms clean, tidy and bright
Perfect for a couple and ideal for the pub, which is 46 paces away!
I stayed a week in Piperâs cottage from the 24th of January 2022, on arrival I found the cottage warm, cosy, and very clean, it has everything you could ever need. I took my little dog and found the outdoor perfect for him to have a run around and play when he needed to. Itâs a fabulous location to explore the area, the beach is in walking distance, and from the doorstep I could hear the sea (lovely) we also had some lovely walks at Ringstead Downs, went to the Gin and Trap for lunch, and Sunday lunch at the White Horse which is opposite the cottage, I will return

Excellent cottage, let for 7 nights in great location, made even better by lovely weather. Only further small comments would be stairs (see pictures on site) might be a little difficult for anybody with reduced mobility and as befits a great period cottage the doorways are a bit lower, so very tall people might need to watch their head!
