The town was quaint. The hotel was clean and mostly updated. The Geothermal pool was my favorite part. The stay at this hotel could’ve been better if the beds were comfortable. The mattresses were hard and similar to military dorm beds. I’m hoping with the new reservations that was happening while I was there that would be one of the things this hotel would update. The front desk staff was personable and full of knowledge as far as where to explore in the area.
The room and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. Staff was nice, food was good, the hotel was accessible.
The amenities (pool and sauna) were poorly maintained. The sauna smelled moldy and was dripping quite a bit.
Stayed here the night before a morning flight out from KEF. Plenty of parking on site, shops & restaurants across the street. Filled the tank at gas station next to hotel before heading out. Super convenient. Short walk to thermal bath.
Had dinner at hotel restaurant, food was good.
Room was clean & spacious. It would be great if we could spend more days here to explore the various trails and use the hotel pools and other amenities.
The hotel offers a very good AM buffet in the main dining room that seems price inclusive for most guests. Their evening menu offers a nice range of food options but I was disappointed in the recommended lamb dish which was a bit undercooked with a hint of tired butter or grease in the sauce. My wife fared better with arctic char. Weekend table service seemed a bit spotty as well. Rooms are super clean, well appointed with nice shelving, and the beds are very comfortable with euro style individual duvets for cover. Would absolutely stay here again if we do a return visit to Iceland as the location is quite convenient for South Island tourist destinations and the hotel is superb!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
I was very disappointed no door on bathroom and no door on shower.
When I was checking in, the staff member asked for my name and requested that I spell it out. However, when I reached the second letter, he commented that my accent was very strong and that he couldn’t understand what I was saying. I am an Asian living in the UK, and my work requires me to communicate entirely in English, so I generally have no major difficulties in conversation. This remark made me feel somewhat uncomfortable and a little offended. I understand that everyone’s ability to understand different accents may vary, but I truly hope the hotel staff can show more respect and inclusiveness towards guests with different accents, so that all visitors feel welcome. In addition, the hotel facilities are very good
