Wake up to the sound of birdsong in this fantastic treetop retreat! Although the house is just a two minute stroll from the famous beach and cafe, Birdsong at Hyams is tucked away in a tranquil bushland setting, away from the hustle and bustle. With three outdoor spaces and trees all around, this is the perfect beach-and-bush escape. Birdsong also has an EV charger.

Where will I be?

Birdsong at Hyams has a lovely natural bush setting in the increasingly sought after Silver Strand Circle. You will discover that this is a quiet and peaceful pocket of Hyams Beach, yet still only a 2 minute walk to the main beach. It is also an easy stroll up to the cafe for coffee or a meal. You can hear the waves rolling in, night and day.

Why choose Birdsong?

Birdsong at Hyams has three outside areas, great for alfresco dining or for sneaking in an afternoon siesta. It also has a stylish split-level design, and a lovely, tranquil, bush setting.

Birdsong is a particularly good choice for guests who are environmentally aware, with the following amenities:
- An EV charger
- Recycling bins in both bathrooms and the kitchen - making it easier to place objects in the large yellow recycling bin outside
- An outdoor compost system for all green food scraps and other compostable items
- 14 Solar panels on the roof that covers energy footprint on most days

How is the property laid out?

Birdsong at Hyams is a two-storey home with three good-sized bedrooms, front and rear timber decks, and a sunny balcony. There are also sun lounges and a private outdoor rain shower with hot and cold water. The home has a split-level living and dining area, a well-equipped and very modern kitchen, a laundry, two bathrooms (one with a bath) and parking for up to three cars. It is ideal for weekends away or longer stays, and combines practical seaside holiday living with the comforts of home. The bedrooms are configured as one queen bed downstairs, and two queen rooms upstairs.

WiFi, Internet, Netflix or Pay TV - will I have it?

Birdsong has high speed NBN for internet, Netflix, Stan and other streaming services. The latest LG Oled TV has also been installed. A Sonos sound system is also available.

Whilst the NBN WiFi service is generally reliable, we cannot guarantee it 100% and will not pay compensation for any loss of connectivity. If internet access is critical during you stay, please make sure that you have a Plan B.

Birdsong also has a great library of DVD's and plenty of books to read.

Staying warm or keeping cool?!

Birdsong at Hyams is equipped with reverse cycle air conditioning that covers the whole house, and wall heaters in each bedroom. If the house is opened up in summer, it catches any available breeze. The rear deck and upstairs rear balcony are also north facing so have a good sun aspect on a fresh morning.

What about sheets, towels and other supplies?

Birdsong at Hyams supplies linen and bath towels. Please remember to bring your favourite beach towels.

Parking for cars, boats etc?

Birdsong at Hyams has parking for up to three cars and shares a driveway with the next door property. There is an EV charger available for guests.

Is my dog also welcome to stay?

Yes! Birdsong is a dog friendly property, and has a small, secure outdoor area. Please note the following rules;

- Please do not allow wet or dirty dogs in or through the house,and absolutely no dogs are allowed on the furniture or in the bedrooms
- If your dog will be inside at night, please provide bedding
- Please bag and dispose of doggy waste appropriately
- Please clean up dog hairs or anything else inside the house before your departure.

What are the minimum stay rules?

- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights
- All other times: 2 nights

Are there any special Summer Season rules?

Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay (not long enough). Hyams is a beautiful spot and it was great to have a house within 2 minutes of the beach and in the bush. House was extremely well equipped. Plenty of areas to just be alone if need be. Plus I was able to take my little dog. A great break.

Such a shame

The property is well positioned near the beach. The accommodation was as listed. However, the downstairs bedroom has an incredibly strong damp odour which made it impossible to sleep in the room. The mattress was a good quality one, but the damp smell has seeped into it, the pillows and the linen all had the same damp mildew smell. That meant that the couch was requisitioned as a bed - not ideal. The handyman came to see if there was anything to be done (Easter weekend). He also noted that the odour was extremely strong and was apologetic about it. Unfortunately there was no spare linen, no inflatable mattress, nothing at all to help with the situation. The office was unable to help until after the holiday weekend, when they inspected the property and advised that there was no problem to be found. Five adults staying at the property all complained about the odour, but apparently the office could not find anything wrong. If you have any respiratory problems, do not stay here. The rest of the house was well maintained and fitted out with everything you needed

Excellent property and is dog friendly. All the comforts of home are included. The owner has thought of everything. Few minutes from the beach. Room for 3 cars to park. Very peaceful with the birds singing and kangaroos roaming around. 10/10. Unfortunately it rained for half our time away but definitely would rent this house again.

Just what the doctor ordered!

A very relaxing long weekend. Close enough to the beach to listen to the waves at night but far enough away not to be worried by traffic or noise. Hyams beach is VERY popular. Walked to Vincentia which was an easy walk and walks along the beach so plenty, or nothing to do. The back area of the house is private so able to enjoy quiet time there or out the front. Although the house is old it has everything required. Love the coffee machine❤️ Definitely a bonus. Would comfortably accommodate 6 adults although would need regular trips for supplies as the fridge is small. Would be very happy to return

Great family beach home

A spacious home away from home in a beautiful bush setting but only a couple of minutes walk to beautiful Hyams Beach. The house is very well equipped and comfortable, is fully fenced to allow pets to stay and has a great hot outdoor shower to wash off the sand. We thoroughly recommend Birdsong for a wonderful family holiday.

Our family ( including the fur people) had a wonderful mini break here. The layout of the house is great and everything you could possibly need was supplied. The heated shower outside was a great hit!!! The location was perfect for easy access to beautiful Hyams. Only one thing to consider is that the back area is not dog proof for smaller dogs who can easily sneak under the gate( naughty kids) which meant they scored the bonus of never being left behind!! Overall we could not have been happier with our stay st Birdsong and cannot wait to return!! Thank you

A well equipped, comfortable, dog friendly house close to the beach with a nice, private enclosed barbecue dec. Plenty of plates and glasses, a great coffee machine (byo beans), and wonderful books point to the generosity of the hosts and a level of trust that is sadly all too rare. It makes a difference.

We really enjoyed our stay at Birdsong and loved having brekkie in this pocket of bushland near the beach. We could explore lots of the bay from Hyams and loved Murrays Beach and even drove to Cupitt's Winery just south of Milton for lunch with a view and great music on the Sunday! Craig and Holiday Collection were excellent communicators and we had a really comfortable stay! We'd stay here again!

What a find! What a great place! We stayed six nights in late September and found Birdsong at Hyams Beach a wonderful experience. The two-storey home was comfortable, well appointed and ideally suited to four adults and two children: three bedrooms (two with Queen-size beds and the third with two single beds). It was clean and well furnished. All our self-catering needs were met. The house boasts two balconies, one at the back on the second level, and the other in the front above the carport. There's also a paved courtyard at the rear of the house. All in all, a great place to relax, grab a book from the extensive library, and to take it easy. Without doubt, the houses close proximity to Hyams Beach is its biggest selling point. Those blindingly bright sands are just a few minutes walk away. So too is Hyams Beach Cafe. The food is terrific. Birdsong is nestled among the trees, and as its name suggests there's a daily birdsong chorus. The only drawback and this applies to most of Hyams is a weak Internet signal. We found reception hot spots in the house, but the strongest signal appeared to be in the vicinity of the cafe. Its a minor inconvenience in a world of pleasant experiences

Beautiful place to stay!

A very comfortable and spacious home with everything you need to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable, including a large choice of reading materials which we all made use of. Very comfortable beds! Perfect location as a very short walk to a spectacular beach! The bird life is spectacular! No garden but a lovely courtyard and a two separate balconies which allows everyone to choose their areas for reading, eating or simply listening to the birds and the waves.
