unexpected jewel in the western hills

Pros: The open integration with the beautiful Costa Rican eco system
Cons: The pool would have been nice for our five year old
Location: close to Carara National Park and only 2 miles from the Pacific Coast.
We just reserved this hotel at the last moment as a convenient stop to SJO airport for the return home and it was a gem. Breakfast was included and an enjoyable evening meal was available at check in. The rooms were well appointed and the shower opened to the out of doors - it was really special. The central area had beautiful gardens (as did the entire establishment) with song birds, humming birds and butterflies. There was even a nice nature walk with Macaws. Unfortunately the pool was drained for repairs while we stayed.
