Family Friendly Chalet Game Room, Enjoy the View - 3 Br 2 mi to Smuggs
3 bedroom mountain chalet 2 miles from Smuggler's Notch w/ mountain views, multiple decks and game room. Quintessential cozy and charm throughout. Sleeps 8, Two bedrooms on the second floor, one with half bath, balcony and queen bed. Second bedroom upstairs features double bed plus twin. Full bathroom and 3rd bedroom on main floor. Home completely redone with new kitchen appliances. Finished walk out lower level w/ shuffleboard, Foosball, hockey game system and bean bag toss. Note: Vermont winter vehicle suggested (4wd, AWD, good Snows or studs). Stowe 15 min in summer and 50 min in winter when the Notch Rd is is closed.
Pros: great location, private, beautiful mountain views, close to waterfalls and amenities, roomy, plenty of supplies to last a week for a family of 4, games for kids, Cons: several items in the home were broken or needed to be replaced, AC is only available in 2 bedrooms, and chairs are needed on the upstairs balcony.
We chose this home because of the location for a family snowboarding trip to Smugglers Notch and could not have been happier. The resort was a quick 5 minute drive away which made going back and forth so easy. Our kids loved the game room in the basement and we spent a lot of time down there. There was plenty of space and the house had every thing we needed for our 5 day stay. Diane was so helpful and made sure that we knew where to go and what to do. We will definitely be back.
My family (me, my spouse and our two adult children) had a great time staying at the Notch Chalet. It was a cozy and comfortable experience, with all the amenities we needed. The only downside was the drive to Stowe, which was 34 miles instead of 8 miles because the Notch Road (VT 108) closes in the winter. But the house was great, all the appliances were fairly new, clean, and in great shape. The game room in the basement was awesome. We hope to come back sometime during the summer or fall to enjoy the outdoors and the views from the house.
We were thrilled with Smugglers' Notch Chalet! It was very clean, had everything we needed (and more). The location was beautiful! The chalet was exactly as presented on the website. We'll be back!
This place is more suited for families than a couple on a romantic getaway. The fireplace was the best part of this chalet. We did enjoy the game room a bit too, but some updating would definitely bring this place up to 5 stars for me. Great location!
We had a great time. The chalet was exactly as advertised. No surprises. Beautiful setting. Conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. Comms with owners and property manager were flawless and warm. We were here for a family reunion, and we will stay here again the next time. Do not hesitate--book this place.
We loved our stay at the Notch Chalet! Accommodations were comfortable for 7 adults, Chalet was clean and well-stocked, view from the main deck and master BR deck was beautiful. Surrounding area residential and quiet. Country stores and eateries close by. Communication with Will and Beth was easy. Area had received 1+ foot of snow the day before our arrival but the driveway was plowed and a path shoveled to the front door. We'd love to come again!!
Very relaxing rustic chalet nestled in the woods across from Smugglers Notch ski resort. Breathtaking views of the mountains and amazing sun rise over the ski resort. Very attentive to needs/concerns made for a very relaxing stay with family. I would recommend for anyone wanting to be close to the resort without having to compete with resort guests.
We had an amazing time exploring VT, playing disc golf at smuggs and playing board games with our friends. Location was great and the chalet was very cozy.
This was my base for spectating at the 2023 Disc Golf World Championship at Brewster Ridge & Fox Run. disc golf courses. My friend Flash Kingsley PDGA # 021 stayed Friday and Saturday Night and attended the last two rounds of the sport he helped get off the ground.
An excellent mountain getaway, but maybe not for toddlers
Clearly the Notch Chalet is meant for skiers in the winter but that doesn't mean that it isn't a good time in the summer! The house was nice, we were 3 people but could have comfortably fit several more. The steps were a bit steep but certainly manageable. Looking out the front yard is a great view of the mountains (it was very cool to watch them disappear and reappear into the rain).
The location is very close to Stowe and literally minutes from Jeffersonville; about an hour to Burlington.
While no reflection on the hosts or the location we did this trip with our three year old daughter and it was a bit much for her. Much of the hiking in the area is for more experienced hikers and not very child friendly. There's certainly things to do but I think if we had taken this trip when she was 5 or 6 it would have been even better. That said she navigated the house super well (even if I was worried about the wood stove and steps) and loved the foosballl table and the Ms PacMan setup!
Really enjoyed our stay in this well equipped house. The location is wonderful and both the host and property manager were terrific in answering all of our questions. We hope to return next summer to enjoy it all again.
Views were amazing, tucked away in a quiet location that provided the perfect relaxed environment. House was wonderful and had to pry the kids away from all the activities. Hosts were checking in to ensure all was going well which I appreciated.
