Really nice clean home with well-stocked kitchen. We enjoyed staying on the Jekyll Islandâs marshside, near the Historic District.

We stayed at A Jekyll Getaway for the Shrimp and Grits Festival. It was a great location within walking distance to the Historic District, which is where the festival was located. The home was very well appointed and very comfortable. We will likely return and would recommend to friends and family.

Location: This was a great house to stay in while visiting Jekyll Island. My parents prefer the quiet and more calm nature of riverside vs. a house on beachside. We found the location of this rental to be perfect. It was a quick drive up Captain Wylly Rd. to reach the Oceanview Beach Park for the days we spent at the beach. It is very easy and quick get to any place on the island you want to be whether you are riding bikes or driving since you are close to both Captain Wylly Rd. and Shell Rd. and right done the road from the Historic district.House:The open layout of the house is great for a family or group who enjoys hanging out together. The kitchen, dining room, and back living room (great room?) are all open and connected allowing for easy conversation across all the rooms. I personally loved all the windows and skylights which allowed in a ton of natural light and gave a great view of the backyard which occasionally had deer and a racoon wandering through. There is a nice size front living room that is separate from rest of the house and makes for a nice space for anyone who would want some quiet time or separate space from the back rooms. The bedroom (not the primary) with the queen bed was the smallest of the three but had enough space between the dresser and bed to allow for two people to stand comfortably and get ready, although on the other side of the bed the space is a bit tight. The other two rooms have plenty of space to move around. The guest bathroom is a little small and the toilet is very close to the door but works just fine if only one person is in there at a time. We did recommend that the shower head, in the the guest bathroom, be replaced as it had low water pressure and did not give a consistent stream making it mildly difficult to get fully rinsed off. We would definitely stay at the house again!
