Plenty of fine dining and family-friendly restaurants are within walking distance from the Sands of Kahana. Captain Jack's Restaurant on property serves breakfast, lunch and dinner along with a great Happy Hour! Dollies Pub and Café and Miso Phat are just across the street and also offer tasty cuisine. For convenience, there are two stores nearby with easy grab-and-go deli items and anything you might need without having to go to a larger busy grocery store.

Your condominium will be supplied with beach towels. It will not however be stocked with beach equipment. Too often items break or go missing and it is not feasible to track and replace the items. Sullivan Properties, Inc firmly believes in recycling & lowering the carbon footprint we leave on this planet! If items are purchased or acquired by guests and are still in good condition, we are happy to leave them in the unit for others to enjoy. If they are extremely dirty or broken, we must toss them out. There are places nearby that rent beach amenities – your property might also have an onsite rental shack. Most of the rental places nearby offer daily or weekly rates. Please note, we are not endorsing these companies simply providing the more popular options in the area : Snorkel Bobs in the Kahana Gateway Center, Boss Frogs in the Napili Plaza and Boss Frogs in Kahana Manor. Great Views

There were a few issues, but overall we enjoyed our stay. The views are beautiful, this is the second time we stayed in this same building. It's very easy for families since it has a private beach, pool, kids pool, parking, and restaurant on-site. We were worried about the lack of AC, but it ended up not being too bad with the fans at night. Biggest issue was the cockroaches. We saw multiple each day/night. With how expensive the place was we expected a better experience. We didn't have this issue on past trips in the same building (different owners). We called and they had someone come spray which I think helped bc they were dead each morning. However, the woman we spoke to just offered to cancel our stay for the remaining nights, (which obviously wasn't an option for us); we didn't like that as s solution for customer service. And she said "well its the tropics" with little empathy for the situation. We barely slept the first night because they were on the wall next to the bedroom. We also noticed dirty underwear when we checked in, which also wasn't really a good impression. Overall, it was good and we made it work though.

Despite my flight delay this has been my top vacation. The apartment is big and comfortable. Easy to get around. the elevator is slow if you live in a higher floor that may cause some aggravation. Overall great place to spend time with your loved ones without disappointments. Thank you, Sullivan Properties.

Maui Getaway

Great location! Our family of 5 spent a week over the holidays. The condo overlooked the water and the kitchen was very well appointed. Beds were comfortable and there was laundry (someone left powder detergent and pretty sure you need to use liquid only in the washer). We had a car and were able to take some day trips, but there was awesome food and drink at the on-site restaurant as well as in walking distance. The master bath could use some updating /extra cleaning as there is mildew in seems of shower, but otherwise the unit felt very clean and was excellent.

Bait and switch

We rented a specific location with specific amenities. When we arrived, we were switched to a unit that did not come close to what we rented and paid for. After much Back and forth, they moved us but again, not the caliber of what we rented and had a receipt for. Very disappointed in VRBO experience.

Family Vacation

This condo was perfect for a family vacation. There was plenty of room and I couldn’t believe how spacious it was. The airflow through the unit was perfect so AC wasn’t needed at all. The pool, restaurant, beach rental, and beach chairs made our stay perfect and so easy to enjoy our time there. I would definitely stay in this condo or another condo on this property again.

Always a great stay at Sands of Kahana

We loved the unit - spacious, with a terrific view. Enjoyed sitting on the balcony/lanai and watching the whales (bring your binoculars!). Pool area is always clean and the beach is fun. Easy drive to all the sites and beaches of West Maui/Lahaina. Will be staying here again!

Wonderful location!

We greatly enjoyed our stay. The property was beautiful and the amenities fantastic. The room needs a little work. The chairs were covered in stains but extremely comfortable. The front desk is absolutely horrible. They were "unable to help us" when someone at the pool stole my towel and when we called with a noise complaint at 3am. Overall it was great and if we come back, we'll definitely book there again.

Great building, not so great property manager

The facility was beautiful, loved the kiddy pool. Great location and view from room. Sullivan properties were very helpful prior to the trip. However, once we arrive we received poor service. There were no towels in the facility and it took two days to get them. We have numerous cockroach issues and asked for traps which were never delivered. When we had an issue with disruptive construction happening next door (aka jackhammering for two days) the staff was rude and it took days to get any response from the management. There was very little in the way of amenities in the actual condo so bring your own toilet paper, trash bags, and soap! I would stay at Sands of Kahana but would opt for another condo managed by another company.

Overpriced and outdated

Our family arrived hoping for a nice place to stay, like we saw in the photos online, for the price we paid. Sadly, with the peeling ceilings, ripped wallpaper, ant problem within the worn out living room furniture, (mainly the coffee table infestation) and the broken, smelly dishwasher, we were surprised by the quality of our surroundings. We appreciated some updates to the bathroom vanities and kitchen areas. There was plenty of space for our family of 4 with lots of added bonus supplies to be able to use. It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the dishwasher wasn't properly installed. We heard a message to the owner from the property manager about it may not work...and didn't know this until after a load had came out dirty. Hand washing dishes on vacation wasn't my idea of a vacation. The elevator on the property was very slow and seemed inefficient for the building occupants. Hopefully, the condos can be better represented in the future. Sadly, we'll probably be staying somewhere else when we come to Maui again.
