From the moment my partner and i arrive, we felt so relaxed, we just love being surrounded by nature. Maya Sanctuary is the place to go to if you feel you need to reset and take a few days from the chaos of city living
A cottage well off the beaten track.
No TV and wifi for 2 nights. Then it rained and the cloud was low so sightseeing was out of the question.
Spent the day blobbing out reading and DVD watching.
Best possible place to spend a day doing this.
If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the place for you!! Very secluded and very quiet, I didn't realise how quiet it could be. It is a lovely little cottage with all the comforts of home except television reception so bring a good book. There are no shops near by so remember to bring everything you need including milk etc.
Quiet, private, lovely!!
We had issues with our water as the pump was broken but they tried to fix it and they offered is free dinner for it, we also got to shower in the main house.

The retreat you've been looking for!
Deborah maintains enough contact so that you feel comfortable and well informed. From directions to the hotel to well wishes to enjoy your stay. There was three days of heavy rain leading up to our stay. Meaning the road works on Blackheath Creek Road were very muddy but this didn't dampen our stay. The five cabins are well spaced and well equipped. If you're looking for a romantic getaway you've found it. We enjoyed the heated spa in the early mornings and the late nights. It's close enough to the major attractions. But far enough to feel relaxed. Highly recommended!!
Our Cottage was well appointed and the surrounding area was beautiful.
All the staff were awesome, and the communication was great.
Will we be back? Will we tell our friends? You bet we will!
Kenny checked us in and he was so friendly and sweet. We stayed in the Artist Cottage and it is so spacious and the jacuzzi was a hit! It is so private and is the absolute perfect place for a relaxing holiday. Would highly recommend it!
It is as the name implies, a "secret escape".. Make sure you stock up on your food items before travelling to the lodge as it is a 30 min drive to the shops (which we hadn't thought of after our 3 hour drive from Sydney). I was disappointed that when paying $$$ for the stay, no light continental breakfast was included. Just your simple tea, coffee, UHT milk and bottled water. We loved the spa on the veranda; truly the highlight of the stay. The cabins are about 10m apart so we didn't get the privacy we had expected (luckily we were the only ones there at the time). The fireplace was nice and cozy, though I do think paying extra for firewood was unnecessary and should be complimentary.. We stayed 3 nights, but 2 would have been sufficient. You can go for a walk around the property and we loved seeing the animals (kangaroos, llamas, chickens). We used the bbq for lunch and dinner. Kenny the host was very pleasant to deal with. While the cabins and bush setting are beautiful, we probably wouldn't stay here again if we weren't using free rewards nights, as it is too pricey.
Facilities: Home away from home, Kitchenette was perfect; Value: Affordable, Everything was special; Service: Phenomenal; Cleanliness: Beautiful;
The valley is sensational, definitely go for a walk around the track.
If you want a quiet and secluded couples escape then secret valley escape is perfect. The room was cosy and well appointed, and settling down in front of the log fire was an ideal break in our busy holiday.
One thing to note is that, while billed as self catering, the room didn't contain an oven, although there was a hob, microwave, barbeque and lots of utensils and equiptment so as long as you are aware of it this isn't a problem. The manager was extremely helpful and friendly and when we mentioned that we had brought something that needed an oven she kindly let us use hers.
There is nothing quite like waking up in your own cabin in the mountains, seeing wild kangaroos out of the back window, then spending an hour in the hot tub on the veranda before being greeted by a pair of alpacas when you leave!
