The staff at the Grain Valley Inn was great, but the rooms I had booked were not the rooms we received and I'm still waiting for a new receipt showing the less expensive room we ended up staying in. They told me that would be done by Expedia. Please send the updated receipts for Itinerary # 73262225669491. We did not stay in a room with 2 queen beds. The Grain Valley Inn told me the stay would be less expensive.

Our room had dirty carpet, torn draperies and a light in the bathroom that didn’t work. We should not have been in the room. I’m sure the hotel will be nice when the renovations are finished.

This property is in transition from a previous owner. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast in the morning was great. Don’t miss the biscuits and gravy. The property was also quiet despite being adjacent to I-70. We did not hear any road noise in our room. We would stay here again in the future.

They were remodeling and tried to put us in a room that had been painted 4 days before. The smell was horrible. They tried to stick an ozone machine in room and finally upgraded us to a suite. It worked out and the second room was good.

Parking area awkward especially for handicapped. I know you are changing over ownership. Rooms need deep cleaning from curtains to floor. Need more than carbs for breakfast. Need eggs. Beds were comfy and clean so that is most important.

It's in the middle of remodeling and rebranding. All in all a decent place for the price... There were no low carb options at breakfast so I skipped it.

As a single woman, I did not feel safe in the parking lot. There were four gentlemen sitting in the parking lot underneath the tree drinking it was dark and when I alerted the front desk, they said they would keep their eye on it. The room was mediocre at best. It was very musty, smelled nasty, had bugs. I even took a picture of it in case you wanna see it I would never ever stay here again.

I travel through Kansas City on my way to and from Florida each year and have stayed at this location each time. Unfortunately, I can't give a good recommendation this year: on the first leg of my trip, they gave me a room with one king bed instead of the room I reserved (two queen beds). Not a huge issue as I was traveling with my sister so we shared the king bed (two women). On the return leg, while I got the room I reserved (two queen beds), the carpet in the room was dirty (plaster dust and particles all over the carpet, the closet had a doorknob, but no strike plate to keep the door closed, the TV turned off every time you opened the refrigerator or walked in front of it, and the bathroom had not been restocked with shampoo, soap, etc.). I know they are undergoing renovations, so I'll cut them some slack, but I won't be staying here again. On the plus side, staff was friendly and the AC worked (almost too well).

Was currently undergoing a remodel. You can tell they were most definitely making an improvement to property overall. It will be real nice when completed. Staff was very nice. Our room was very clean.

We saw multiple people who appeared to be on drunks hanging out in the parking lot. The pool was closed down and that really disappointed my daughters. The room was very humid and sticky. Two days after leaving I went to the drs and was diagnosed with a fungal infection on my ear.
