SWEET Luxury Cottage with Private Pool and Studio - Jungle Villa in Keaau

Jungle Villa has all the romance you could imagine, perfect for your tropical island getaway. The very private yard is surrounded by areca palm trees. The Royal Poinciana flowering tree in the middle of the yard erupts in lava red blooms parts of the year. Flowering vines, citrus trees, and bird song complete this secret garden location. There's a private swimming pool and outdoor shower to seal the deal!

The large one-bedroom, 1.5 bathroom Villa and its pool are yours entirely during your stay. Our bedroom has a Queen size iron frame bed and ensuite bathroom with walk-in tiled shower, walk-in closet and dual vanity sinks. The detached yoga studio has a full bed and serves as a bedroom for a third guest. The living room is large with two leather sofas, a flat screen Smart TV for streaming, free WiFi and lots of windows with garden views. Our galley kitchen has everything you need for cooking local produce on the gas range. Dine inside on our unique dining table or pleasure in outdoor eating on the lanai table facing the backyard and pool. We also have a propane grill outside for grilling . Plenty of seating around the property gives you many spots to lounge and relax.

Jungle Villa is located in Keaau, Hawaii, a 15 mile drive south of Hilo International airport. The gated entrance to Jungle Villa gives you the feeling of a secret getaway but our Host Cottage is at the separated back part of the full acre property, providing support and assistance should you need it.

Private Place to Take it Easy

Great location and very private area. Good place to just relax and hang out but also not terribly far from fun things to do. The pool was nice and the water was clean except for a solid amount of debris from trees and such - it could stand to be vacuumed out. Also the pool skimmer was kind of broken but we did our best and cleaned a lot of the leaves and dirt out ourselves. Really enjoyable experience overall and would love to stay here again!

Lovely, Romantic Hideaway

Overall we had a lovely stay. The property is beautiful, very private and the house is set up nicely for a romantic getaway. The home is mostly well equipped, but don't forget to bring you own games, books and an umbrella. We would also have appreciated a large umbrella over the pool deck chairs, as shown in the listing photos. The pool seemed a bit dirty when we arrived, (paint missing and lots of debris on the bottom), but the water was clean and it was vacuumed out on the second last day of our stay. There was also a bee's nest under the concrete edge at one corner of the pool. We tried to leave them alone and stuck to the opposite end of the pool. I did get stung while sitting on the lanai one evening, we but understand that bees are very special in nature, so it's probably best just to leave them alone. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and were happy with the communication with the host.

We enjoyed our stay but were a little surprised at the distance from town. At first it seems as though there is not much around in the way of restaurants or food stores but once you learn the neighbor hood you find options.
