This authentic but modern bothy offers the perfect place for a romantic getaway or base for your Lake District adventure. Situated on the lower slopes of Blencathra, one of the most impressive fells in the Lake District National Park, Denika East nestles on a working sheep and beef farm along with nine holiday properties, and has been designed with couples in mind. One pet is welcome to stay, so no need to wave goodbye to those sad puppy eyes when you go on holiday, bring them along too! Threlkeld is a small village just off the A66, which is the main route between Penrith and Keswick, and almost directly opposite is Keswick Golf Club. The quaint village of Scales, along with a couple of local pubs offering great food and local cask ales, is just a mile away. The vibrant Lake District town of Keswick, 5 miles, offers many great restaurants, pubs and an excellent range of shopping experiences and memorable tourist attractions. If you fancy something a little different, then why not visit The Derwent Pencil Museum, home to the world’s largest pencil. Also within easy reach is Puzzling Place, full of mind-boggling optical illusions, and the Theatre by the Lake, with its enviable position on the shores of Derwentwater with award-winning performances in drama and arts. If you like walking or cycling, you are surrounded by some of the most challenging fells in the area, as well as a number of less challenging routes ideal for those who prefer sightseeing without the strain. Keswick is at the northern end of Derwentwater, one of the area’s iconic lakes, and offers a great base and starting point for many an adventure.
