Zone for vacation rentals and not impacted by proposed zoning changes. Fully legal and stable rental unit. Fresh out of helping the Lahaina fire victims, our unit is back on the market.

Modern, fully updated spotless condo with a great view of the beach. Everything is modern, from the stainless appliance package to the commercial sized washer and dryer, Egyptian cotton beach towels and super high quality linens. Two large bedrooms and two full baths. Over 1000 square feet of open, airy space.

-Great Ocean View: take in the outstanding view through the wall to wall, floor to ceiling glass wall in the living room/kitchen
-Completely Updated: Our unit is kept in excellent shape, all aspects are new or replaced on a regular basis. We don't have 10 year old mattresses or ancient pans, we keep it new and fresh.
-Great, Central Location: walk to shopping, dozens of restaurants, beaches, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, snorkeling and more.
-South Maui Gardens shares a property line with our building. It is a fantastic installation...nightly entertainment, beautiful grounds, 15 eating establishments.
There are days we never use our car!

-Fully air conditioned, one of the few units in the building outfitted with a state of the art ductless, silent air conditioning system.

-Upgraded double pane glass. The $20K expense keeps most owners from doing this upgrade, trust us, you'll love the new glass!!!


Every time we enter our condo, we are struck by how beautiful the view is. One wall of the living room is entirely made of glass, and the light fills the whole space. The lanai is over 16 feet wide and provides a great space to hang out, watch the waves and surfers, and enjoy the tropical weather.

We recently installed a $15k sliding glass door unit even though the old unit functioned fine. The update is just part of our commitment to make sure our guests have a great experience. I am so happy with this change. The difference the insulated, double pane glass made was huge. Very energy efficient and so quiet. There are only 12 units in all of the building with these doors. I wouldn't stay in a unit without them.


We have furnished our condo to be modern and comfortable. You will find full sized couch and chairs, two king sized beds, tons of storage, large closets. The kitchen is outfitted with a new whirlpool appliance suite including microwave, dishwasher, self cleaning glass topped range and refrigerator with ice maker. We even have special outlets that have USB chargers built into them. The kitchen is outfitted with top quality pans, knives and small appliances.

Free WiFi. A large flat screen TV in the living room and another flat screen in one bedroom.

Island Surf is in a great central location. Immediately to the north is a area the locals call 'The Triangle'. It has a lot of shops and scores of restaurants and night spots. Across the street is Kalama Park, offering playgrounds, roller hockey, volleyball, surfing, stand up paddle boarding, kayaking and wide open spaces to play catch or just hang on the grass. You can watch your friends and family play in the surf right from the front room.

A short drive to the south puts you in the heart of Wailea with upscale dining, shopping and more wonderful beaches.

Island Surf houses many great businesses. Massage, small grocery store, sushi restaurant , Pacific Whale Foundation...many great businesses are directly downstairs.

There is a pool and BBQ area on the second floor, both with ocean views.

-Beach toys including snorkel gear, Tommy Bahama beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, umbrella, coolers, sand toys

-New kitchen: dishwasher, microwave, glass topped self cleaning oven, coffee maker and grinder, blender, toaster, tea pot, rice cooker, high end knives, pots and pans.

-Our on-island contact is within walking distance to the condo and will promptly attend to any issues you may encounter.

Island Surf Building is entirely NON SMOKING. Owners and guests are not allowed to smoke in units, on walkways, on Lanais or in common areas. There is one very small designated smoking area in a corner of the back parking lot. Quite honestly, if there is a smoker or vaper in your party, this is not a good fit for your vacation. My advice would be to seek other accommodations. Anyone found smoking in a restricted area is subject to a significant fine.

Also, this building is zoned business and resort use. You may have heard of some condos being rezoned and no longer available for tourist use...we are not impacted by that. We have always been zoned for resort use.

Beware of owners not providing their tax number, often they are scams or not licensed. If you are looking at a rental that does not provide their number, they are probably operating illegally. Please be careful, the state is enforcing these and you may find yourself without a place to stay when you arrive. Try googling 'nonpermitted vacation rentals target of enforcement' to see newest article on the issue.

Tout simplement parfait

Malgré l'heure tardive de notre arrivée, le check-in a été sans problÚme. Les photos reflétaient la réalité et toutes les commodités décrites étaient présentes. Nous avons apprécié utiliserla laveuse-sécheuse dans le condo et les accessoires de plage, sans compter le stationnement inclus. Le balcon offre une vue superbe vue sur la mer et la montagne, ainsi que sur les surfeurs qui se préparent à aller à la plage. Great stay for our family of four!

Our family had a great time at the condo in Kihei. The rooms were spacious, the place had everything you need for cooking and the beach (minus life jackets but those were easy to rent). The location was perfect and within walking distance of tons of restaurants, shops, and the ocean. I would definitely recommend this place and if we're ever in the area again would happily stay there.

Matt and Colleen are awesome hosts. Great location! The description/pictures of the rental are all on point. I was wondering about the noise from the street, and there were no issues at all. We were able to walk to Foodland and we also tried some of the food trucks right next to the complex. Will definitely stay again! "A hui hou"!

Fantastic location. Repeat guest!

Matt & Colleen were on top of communications, very detailed and prompt. Came here a decade ago as two couples, came back here last week as a fam with a 6yo and 3yo. I gave this place 5 stars back then, and with the improvements, it's even better now. Place is clean, kid-friendly, came with everything including beach gear, coolers, etc. and everything you'd need in a kitchen. We used the AC / ceiling fan combo, alternately or as needed and found it to be more than adequate for April weather in Maui. We also used the dishwasher, washerdryer. Everything worked flawlessly. Balcony view faces a surf shop behind which is the ocean. And to the left you can see Haleakala! Last but not least, location!! Superclose to beaches, parks, restaurants. Easy parking in the back but also walking distance to places, esp helpful if you don't have a car.

Very nice condo and stocked well of kitchen supplies. Made it easy to go to Costco for food and eat home sometimes! Lots of food choices within walking distance too! Central to drive to different beaches and activities! Love looking out the window at the water and beginner surfers. Would stay here again!

Matt was great to work with, he gave some great recommendations for restaurants, things to do and places to visit. The condo was very clean, well equipped and a great location! Lots of restaurant choices in the area. The food trucks behind the condo was so cool! Beach across the street is a little rocky, but it was very cool, we swam with 2 turtles there and it is shallow for a long way so super easy to hang out! The Lanai has the best view of a beautiful park and sunset every night you won’t miss it. I will be back!

Fantastic vacation in Kihei, Maui

We absolutely loved our stay at Matt and Colleen's condo in Kihei. The location is fantastic- close to incredible beaches, parks, restaurants and shops. And the condo is full of resources about Maui and everything you need for living there and enjoying the place. Matt was responsive to any texts. This was a very special vacation for me, celebrating my 70th birthday and also remembering a family vacation in Kihei 51 years ago that brought that special vacation back to my mind and heart in wonderful ways. Fantastic place and location!

This apartment is in a central location; across from Kalama park beach. The apartment itself was clean and spacious. I rated it 4 stars due to the shower stopper in the hall bathroom being corroded in place. This prevented me from being able to use the bathtub. I had been looking forward to bath after our flight. Now, were we were given notification that the bathrooms were going to be given maintenance work the week after our stay so, this issue may no longer be valid. Otherwise, the place was immaculate. There are beach towels in both closets with umbrellas and chairs for 2 in the guest bedroom closet. We used one of the umbrellas on a beach excursion and it was fine for the both of us. There some grocery items in the refrigerator that were usable along with items like olive oil and some spices in the cupboard so, one could easily buy some basic groceries and be comfortable. There are 2 stair cases plus an elevator in this building which is good as this unit is up a few floors. There is a rinse off in the parking lot which is needed if you decide to walk the beach across the street. after we left here and got to Oahu, we missed this pace immediately and longed for a spacious apartment and lanai! Maui Perfection!

It was our first time going to Maui & first time renting a condo on vacation. This was truly the most perfect home away from home. Having all the time extra amenities from home unlike a hotel was just incredible. We loved all the extra beach gear available too, made the beach days even better. Every morning & evening soaking in the most beautiful views of the water from the lanai & watching the surfers every morning was a true highlight. We just loved the Kihei area, with a gorgeous beach across the street & so many great shops, restaurants & cafes all within walking distance only minutes away. Truly was the most amazing experience, we can't wait to see Maui again one day & will most definitely be returning to this lovely condo, a true piece of paradise.

We loved our stay at this condo because of its convenient location and the beautiful views! It had everything we needed, including beach towels, a couple coolers and some other beach gear we didn’t use. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the balcony after a long day of seeing the sights on the island. We never had any trouble parking, and we were always just a short walk from coffee or food. Great Kihei Condo

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Matt and Colleen’s condo in Kihei. The location was perfect. So easy to walk to many restaurants and shops and a nice ocean view on the shaded lanai. Great for watching the surfers in the morning when jet lag has you up at the crack of dawn. The condo is well-stocked with anything that you might need during your stay. Beach towels and chairs, coolers, boogie boards, and all the kitchen essentials. We really appreciated the sliding doors on the lanai that kept out most street noise. Parking was easy in the lot behind the building; we never had trouble getting a spot. The condo building itself is older but well-maintained. Elevators are quick and we almost never had to wait for one. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Matt and Colleen for sharing your Kihei home!

Fabulous place to stay in Maui

Matt's place is well kept, clean and well stocked with kitchen items, beach towels, beach chairs and even beach umbrellas. The communication with Matt was great as well. Checkin and out went as seamless as can be. The location was perfect, walking distance to great restaurants, food trucks and even Foodland. We had a wonderful time in Maui thanks to Matt sharing his prized condo. Thank you again Matt.

This was a large, clean apartment with great facilities and in a nice area for easy access to the beach and local shops and restaurants. Easy access to other areas of the island and airport. Fantastic communication with host who was very patient with our questions!

VRBO Vacation Gem

This is the second time I have stayed at this property. We have enjoyed both times at this location. It is our favorite VRBO when staying in Maui, and my first choice when looking for a place to stay in Kihei. It's within walking distance to beaches, food trucks and a nice park with a playground for children to play. The condo is well maintained and clean. Our family had a wonderful time, and we hope to stay again in the future!
