The location is great and offers ample parking. The breakfast included is amazing. There were only 2 issues we incurred. There is no elevator and if you have a large suitcase beware! Moving it up all the stairs is a physical challenge. Also our room was above a party area that blared music until 1am and then the loud party talkers went to 2am. Hey, it was a saturday night! But choose your rooms wisely

Rooms are very basic. One must know prior there is NO elevator. Heavy suitcases are hard to maneuver throughout the stairs. Brkfst served is very fantastic. We did stay on a Saturday night and the music downstairs was horribly loud until 1am and then the party went on until 2:30am. All in all I would return but choose my room away from the hotel party area

2 stars is generous

First it was nearly impossible to get up the stairs with no lift. We stain the old part of the hotel. What a dump. Cold shower, no water pressure. Doesn’t look updated since last century. Pictures were deceiving.
Lights flickered like it was haunted.

The Club House was our first stay during our trip, and it was a fantastic start! The building itself is so full of charm and history, and the location is a perfect home base to explore Kilkenny. The staff were lovely, and I thoroughly enjoyed the various decor and historical bits throughout the hotel. We had dinner at the restaurant, and it was very good. The service was also exceptional. Overall it felt as though the Club House offered excepetional value for the price, and would highly recommend it to those who are not seeking modern luxury; if you’re looking for something that honours the history it’s a part of wilst also being wildly convenient, this is it.

Historic hotel with modern amenities

The included breakfast was a combination of buffet style and made to order items. It was quite good. The hotel location was excellent and made for easy walking to restaurants and points of interest. We had a rental car so the free parking in the back of the hotel was a huge bonus in a crowded city with limited on-street parking. The hotel was comfortable and has a great history.

Great room with modern hookups. You would not think this Hotel would offer. Breakfast was plenty and offered interesting options. Be prepared to haul your luggage up a flight or two of stairs. Not too bad but reminds you of how soft we are.

We stayed in the older part of the hotel. It was pretty clean, the beds were not comfortable. It did get a little loud from the street noise but a fan can help with that. Staff was great and helpful. Breakfast was okay but I’d skip it if we stayed there again.

The first room we checked into the bathroom fan would not turn off and the heat was not working. Natashia was kind enough to move us to one of the newer rooms (addition onto older hotel). The newer room was perfect minus the shower had not been cleaned. Natashia jumped right on this and sent the cleaning crew. We really appreciated her customer service and she made our stay a very pleasant one. A full breakfast was included which we appreciated. The hotel was reasonably priced. would recommend
