We enjoyed the house very much. All the amenities were great and very good quality. I love the fact we had a gas stove, very rare at any beach home. Very easy check in and very easy check out. They even let us in almost an hour early without charge. We loved the location, always have, always will.

Enjoyable stay

Family of 7 stayed here for a week. Check in was easy. Property was clean. Temperature control was a little trying to get figured out because it was set to a schedule and the AC went OFF in the middle of the night and we woke up in a heated mess but once we figured out how to turn it off it stayed a comfortable temperature. My elderly parents stayed in the area downstairs with a living room area, table and chairs and a bed. The laundry room was down there with them as well as a full bathroom with a walk in shower which was absolutely perfect for them since mobility is an issue. The steps leading up to the main living area are steep and many but we were able to navigate them especially with the younger ones with us helping cart luggage and groceries. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen had almost everything we needed except if you’re going to do a lot of cooking, I suggest bringing a sharp knife or two, a colander, a wooden spoon and lidded containers. These items are either missing from the kitchen or in the case of the knives- not very sharp. The coffee maker accommodated both grounds with a filter and keurig pods. The patio sunroom is lovely to sit on and the teens to the old folks loved the canal and the kayaks and other activities there. We didn’t get to the community pool to use it but we did check it out- the weather was a bit uncooperative during our visit and there were several storms. An intercom & laundry chute would be nice touches if installed.

Enjoyed Colington

House and property was very nice and clean. We had fun kayaking the canals and had peaceful times on the dock and in the sunroom. Had hoped to enjoy fishing but barely got a nibble in the canal. It's less than 10 min to the main road and beach. Great relaxing time with my family.

Wonderful

This house was clean, spacious and well equipped. It had so many extras, such as beach chairs, kayaks and boogey boards available. The rental company communicated so well, would definately rent this house again, we loved it. Oh and Colington harbor is a great little community!

The house was perfect and located on a canal which was ideal for kayaking. There was only one working kayak paddle; we think there should be three kayak paddles since there are three kayaks in the house. On the TV, they had Roku and Hulu which was not of much use to us. At our home, we are used to having network programs (for example live programs on NBC, CBS, ABC etc.) and other live channels like Golf Channel. Also, they don't have local TV stations which we like to have to keep track of the local weather and other local information. So, the TV was a negative. Colington Harbor is located about four miles from Route 158 (the main road on the OBX) So, that added about 15 minutes to every trip we took away from Colington Harbor. Potential renters of this property should be made aware of this.
