Listen to the waves and feel the sun shining from one of three decks, and enjoy the outdoor shower. This is the best location on the Outer Banks, with restaurants, shops, bars, and ice cream within walking distance including Bonzer Shack and Dare Devil Pizza. This stylish beach house features updated furnishings that is sure to feel like your home away from home.

The open floor plan encompasses a two-story great room with easy access to the kitchen and dining area, and laundry is conveniently located on the first floor. The living room-level floor also features a bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds that sleep 4. Upstairs you'll find two queen-sized bedrooms as well as a loft with futon. Enjoy people watching from the covered deck on the front porch or hang out on the large deck out back with the family. Smart TVs are located in the living area and the 2 upstairs bedrooms. Beach chairs and umbrellas are provided for your use!

Hot but Happy

We had a very nice stay at Downtime!! The temperature outside was unexpectedly HOT (the sand temp was off the charts) but we found that evening swims were just as fun. The cottage was very nice and has lots of extras (kitchenware, chairs, umbrellas, games, puzzles) and our group of 3 adults and 3 children had plenty of space.

Our stay at downtime was great! The house was in a great locations and had everything our family needed. When we had an issue Michelle was easy to get in touch with. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful House and Location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. It has been updated by the owners and was perfect for our family. The kids loved the bunk bed room and loft area to play in. We loved the open floor plan in the kitchen/dining/living room and the proximity to the beach! The outdoor shower, decks and beach equipment were an added bonus. Just got home and ready to come back again!

Cute Cottage & Extra Amenities

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this adorable cottage just one block from the beach. Michelle, our host, has thought of everything to make the experience easy and enjoyable. She was a pleasure to work with and even provided a few necessities to get us through our first morning before we could get to the grocery store for supplies. We particularly enjoyed using the beach cruiser bikes for evening rides and the chairs/umbrellas Michelle provides along with the property. We highly recommend this property!

Amazing Beach House

Our family just adored this beach house. It had everything we could possibly need! It was decorated beautifully and had lots of room for our family of five. It was literally 5 houses from the ocean! It was a great central location for day trips. We will definitely recommend “Down Time” to friends who are looking to vacation in OBX!

Wonderful family time!

Michelle was so attentive and quick to respond to all our questions! We could not have been more pleased with the layout of the house and the location, everything was right there and most of it within walking distance. Definitely a relaxing vacation experience!
