There's a restaurant on site, as well as a coffee shop/cafe and a snack bar/deli. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. WiFi is free in public spaces. The Wenns Chop & Ale House also features coffee/tea in a common area and a fireplace in the lobby.
Beautiful room, huge bed, very comfortable chesterfield chairs. View of the street - in front of church, single lane for cars, parking outside, chargeable. Close to town, pub below, no noise. Rob was very helpful. Would not hesitate to stay again.
Check on was quick and easy. Room was comfortable, although access was a little awkward. Parking was off site around 150 yards awsy, although we were lucky to find a spot right outside for overnight. Ideal location for the centre of town.
Very friendly staff, the food was amazing we had fish and chips with peas the fish was a good size portions couldnât finish it. The room was brilliant well fitted out had a small kitchen that we didnât expect to have, the views were amazing of the church. Every where was very clean.. will be booking again.. to all staff thank u for giving us an amazing stay
The room was clean and bed comfortable and the shower worked. The shower room was small (itâs an old building so compromises have to be made in converting it to a hotel), however no shelf was available in the shower cubicle and shower room so everything had to be on the floor.
My main criticism was with the housekeeping which was non-existent or slapdash. My room wasnât made up after the first night. On querying this I was told that for extended stays (mine was for 3 nights) rooms werenât made up every day. This was unacceptable to me. After the second night my room was made up except that the cups and spoons I had used from the beginning of my stay were still there unwashed or changed. I gave up at this point and washed one myself.
Check in was quick and easy. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The apartment we were allocated was spotless and comfortable. Despite being above the bar area it was very quiet so we had a great sleep. The property is right next to the Minster with the town centre right on the doorstep with most places of interest within walking distance.
Things to note: the property is not suitable for those with mobility issues as there are a number of stairs and no lift - itâs an old building. Parking out the front is short stay and quite expensive - the parking attendants are very keen so donât risk getting a ticket. There is a long stay car park just a short walk away with better rates. Those staying for a few days might want to consider a 7 day Rover ticket - available online - which costs less than ÂŁ30 - better value and less hassle than having to go to the parking meter to top up your ticket on a daily basis.
Grat Location, fabulous room - with generous bath in the bedroom and great shower in bathroom. Brilliant, attentive staff. Some noise from the bar/restaurant downstairs, but stopped from 21:30. The restaurant is great, food was exceptional.
We try to stay here every month as itâs a great dog friendly pub with self contained rooms and the pub is fab! Staff are lovely and never had any issues with the rooms.
Had a fantastic time stayed in the kings ? Room And it was spotless. Made very welcome by the staff. The room was a bit noisy when first checked in but by 8pm it was very quite.had a great bath saturday and a nice shower sunday. I would definitely stay there again.
