The sunsets were beautiful.Duck is quaint. We enjoyed our trip, however there were some problems. The mattresses need replacing, the sunset on the master bedroom side of the house so the room is extremely hot, the exterior doors are old/rotting which make them difficult to open and close. The description suggests that Duck, and the beach are an easy walk, but they aren't easy. The condo is at the top of a hill. The walk is tedious and dangerous as you have to cross the main road to get on the sidewalk. There is no beach side public parking like in Kitty Hawk and Nags Head. The management company was great to work with and I would rent through them again.
The layout was perfect for our family - 2 bedrooms on one side of the great room and the master bedroom on the other. It has a well equiped kitchen, updated bathrooms and a nice stroll down the drive to the pier and covered sitting area on the water. The indoor pool is right across the driveway which gave us relief from the hot sun & the water was refreshing. The friendly neighbors downstairs gave us some restaurant suggestions that were great. Overall, we were very happy with the place and we'd stay there again.
The property was very clean and had everything we could need including bikes and beach gear.
The biggest issues we had were the two queen beds seemed to be full sized instead, the property is a bit of a walk to the beach, and the rental company did not seem to know a lot about it. We had a lot of rain during our trip and called to get the indoor pool lock code, twice. Both times we were given several codes by different people which included numbers that werenât even on the locked keypad.
Otherwise it was a clean and comfortable property!
VG location near Duck and having Pickleball court outside the door was an added bonus. Well equipped unit and pics accurately described the unit. Second time here, and I would definitely rent this unit again
Very well appointed condo in Duck! The place itself is comfortable, has everything you need. We really appreciated the extras like beach gear, games, and access to bikes for cruising. Both the beach and sound are a short walk away, and downtown Duck is close as well. Would definitely recommend!
The location of the property was good, on the sound side, beach is a walk across the street, and Duck downtown is about a mile walk on path. We were disappointed due to the following: when choosing this property to stay, the property manager does not state that you have to bring/buy all the necessities for your stay. For instance, they have a welcome bag with 2 rolls of TP, 1 garbage bag, and 1 dishwasher soap package. A few days before check-in, the property manager sends an email with keypad access, and a list to buy all of the following: Dish Soap, Hand Soap, Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Bath Soap, Aluminum Foil, Saran Wrap, the list goes on and on. If we had known this beforehand, we would not have chosen this property to stay. You are on vacation, you should not have to buy all these things. It was not much of a vacation home.
Also you pay a large amount for the cleaning fee, and the checkout instructions, are to clean the appliances, run and empty the dishwasher, vacuum the rugs, and sweep the floors, and put linens at the end of the beds. Really? Why am I paying the cleaning fee, when I am doing all the cleaning before I leave?
During our stay, the property manager sent us an email about the cleanliness of the place. When you arrive the sheets and one set of towels per guest are shrink wrapped. We had to make our own beds, and there were not enough towels to go to the beach. We had to buy beach towels too! We flew in from the West Coast and it was very disappointing to realize we had to purchase the list of necessities and the beach towels, etc.
The items in the garage were old and not up to par, kayak, board. The pots/pans were dirty, we had to wash them. I do not think the property mgmt checked for cleanliness of dishes, etc. There were tons of ants in the front bedroom, and dead bugs. The property mgmt team said they would spray the bugs, but are you seriously going to spray for bugs while you have a family in the place?
Also, they said parking passes were included in the welcome bag. There were no passes. They said a "runner" would come by with the passes, and no one ever dropped them off.
The TV Wifi is non-existent. You can only watch 1 or 2 channels, and no streaming apps.
It's unfortunate about this place, because the location is decent, but be aware that you have to buy all the necessities. They should list this all on the property, otherwise we would not have stayed here.
We enjoyed our stay very much. My only criticism is that we couldnât figure out which door to go in at first, maybe a picture of the door on the site would help. Everything was clean and comfortable: Thanks!
