We had a wonderful stay. The property and neighborhood were pet friendly; we could take morning and evening walks. The pool and property location was the highlight of the trip, quiet and comfortable neighborhood, away from the busy beach roads. Fantastic pool. The mid-level floors are very warm, and I don't think the AC is working correctly. I went back and forth with the host about it and one night we were able to get it down to 74 degrees, but then the temp went up again to 78. It was uncomfortable, which is why this wasn't a 5 star for the price of the house. The other rooms and the rest of the house stayed were able to stay at a comfortable temp. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. I do recommend this property; we will be coming back.

This house was okay. It could be described as older or a bit run down, especially the lower level. There is a mildew smell mixed with a cleaning product immediately when you enter the garage. There are plenty of beach chairs and things to use for outdoors in the garage . The game room, bar and bathroom is dark and uninviting. The outdoor area is wonderful with plenty to do. The pool was gorgeous and clean. It could use maintenance, such as a pile of deflated pool tubes and missing chair cushions around the pool. The furniture around the pool could be better, like holes in some chairs. There are wonderful deck areas but plenty of cob webs. Our beach parking passes were not here on arrival. We did not receive them until the afternoon on Monday. This was only because we went and retrieved them ourselves. It's very nice that each bedroom comes with its own bathroom and shower. The kitchen definitely lacks pans and utensils to cook with and is a little dated. There is no frying pan! But there is plenty of space. The refrigerator keeps everything nice and cold. It's also super convenient that there are two sinks. The master bedroom was too warm to sleep comfortable. The lights by the pool stopped working and we needed to call for service. The master shower drain did not drain at all and we needed to call for that as well. The service technicians that did come were helpful, although the lights by the pool never got fixed. Our vacation was interrupted by calling so many times.

Overall the house was very good, we enjoyed the location and all the amenities that the property had to offer, especially the pool. The sofa had a broken back in one spot, the host said he would address it right away, but we told him we would be ok and he could fix it after we left. The beds were good and we slept well. The bedrooms on the upper floors the air conditioning worked good on the second floor, and in the living room area. The only problem we had was with the air conditioning on the main floor bedrooms, they stayed hot. We bought some fans and this seemed to help. I feel the cleaners did not do a very thorough job. The floors were not cleaned, when we walked on the floors with socks, they became dirty. Our experience with house itself was a positive one, the main negative was that we were promised passes to the private beach of Southern Shores and they were never provided for us. The host said that he would address the issue, but it was never taken care of, he said that the cleaners said they left them in the welcome basket, but this was not true, then he said the owner would overnight some to us, but this did not happen as well, and we were ghosted about this issue for a couple of days. The host suggestion was that we could go to a public beach, which we did, but that was not the way to address the issue. We did not let it ruin our experience, but I do feel that part of the trip was poor service, do not say you would do something and then not follow up.
