I have stayed at other Shangri-Las and this is the worst one - it’s old , dated, dirty , and almost feels like a hotel in the US - transactional, no client relationship, price high and deliver low. I stayed there 10 yrs ago - staff were attentive, it was clean, un-rushed and how a high end hotel should be - at least I thought so.

The hotel is located perfectly, very close to subway and airport bus, and a block away from Victoria Harbour. Hotel has various dining and snack venues. The lobby is decorated tastely. One morning we experienced lukewarm shower water. Maybe because high usage at that time point, but it should not happen for this higher end hotel. I don’t find any maps or information for nearby dining , shopping in the lobby or room. This could provide convenience for guests.

Shangri-La lives up to its name

We have booked the Executive Room for our stay, and arrived quite late in the evening, to which we were pleasantly upgraded to an amazing one bedroom and separate lounge room. Huge room! Amazingly spacious ensuite. The hotel has the most amazing smorgasbord for breakfast - the largest we have ever seen from our hotel stays, and it is all delicious! Also loved the view from our room which overlooked the harbour and Hong Kong island. Would definitely return.
