Wonderful shukubo experience.
The temple and its garden are magical.
The traditional Japanese room was very comfortable and finely decorated.
The onsen was quite pleasant.
The meals very delicate and diverse.
The meditation and chanting ceremonies very moving.
Finally, the monks were very welcoming.
Great memories all-round.
The food is really weak here. I know itâs a monastery and it is what the monks cook and eat, but come on - price for staying here has nothing to do with simplicity or modesty. I think they could do much better with the money they charge.
Amazing experience, really got to get into the ceremonies that make up these monks' daily lives. Food was great too, nice baths, room was the nicest I've ever had in Japan, was well worth it
I was very disappointed. The rooms were old, dingy, and the view from our room was supposed to be serene, but half of the view was of an old trailer or building and trash. Very sad. I would not recommend this to anyo e
It was great to experience how the Buddhist live not withstanding it was a small insight. The history is steeped in the area and you can only imagine how the early settlers made their way. It was a great experience for us to reflect and take some time away.
This is a working religious institution. While that must be a wonderful experience for Buddhists, it does create pressures for those of other faiths. The property is staggering and well maintained.
Vi var tre personer som fikk tildelt et romslig rom (tre rom med Äpne dÞrer) med eget toalettrom. Rommet var pent og renhold var bra. Hadde utsikt til den fine hagen.
