A great place to stay for thermals and great food!
Posted Feb. 5, 2024 on HotelsBeautiful place with amazing thermal pools! We were happy they weren’t open to the public, it kept them very uncrowded. The grounds are beautiful and full of birds. The staff were very nice and fun to chat with, even helping us with our Spanish. The restaurant was great for lunch/dinner and the breakfast was really nice as well. Truly, my only complaint is that they really should get reusable plastic cups for the pool area/wet bar (also stop with the single use margarine packs!). The amount of single use plastic is so terrible. We have seen beaches in CR full of tiny broken plastics, it’s sad so many places still think disposables are ok. For the price they could definitely afford reusable and get a way better ECO score. Other than that I can’t say a bad word. We loved our stay!

A Wonderful Getaway
Posted Feb. 4, 2024 on HotelsMy husband and I stayed at the Volcano Lodge for 2 nights. We were welcomed so warmly by Valery at the reception. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The grounds are so beautiful with so many different plants and flowers. We truly enjoyed our breakfast which was buffet style. The fruit was delicious! We cannot say enough about the thermal pools-so so relaxing!! Thank you!

Terrific location, beautifully kept gardens, spacious rooms, and delicious buffet breakfast with many choices...oh and the thermal spa is perfect and never over-crowded! Three layers, with the top one being very hot (it took some acclimatizing), middle level like a hot tub, and the lower level warm bath-like. Great location with a less than 20 minute drive to the nearby attractions and town for dining.

GREAT stay! - beautiful property

Lunch at the restaurant was very good. The best tostones (patacones) I've ever had. The breakfast buffet was good except that the scrambled eggs were runny and there was no bacon. The coffee was good
