DESCRIPTION
Sunset West is a wonderfully designed vacation rental home in the Beach Barber Tract neighborhood of La Jolla.

Enter the home to a sun-filled open living room with a gas fireplace and Brazilian cherry hardwood floors. From there you’ll find a gourmet kitchen, fully stocked with a full appliance package and a center island. A convenient breakfast nook leads to a garden patio with lounges. There are 4 bedrooms in total on the main level and 3 on the second floor, including the Master bedroom with another sleeping nook. The Master bedroom includes a built-in gas fireplace, a walk-in closet, and a lovely ocean-view terrace.

For a real treat take the spiral staircase to the ocean-view rooftop deck, complete with lounge seating and a firepit; the perfect spot to relax and recharge, and of course, take in one of those famous San Diego sunsets.

Additional amenities include TVs in all rooms, Wi-Fi, ceiling fans and box fans, ready-made beds, one full towel set and beach towel per guest, and a starter kit of household and bath soaps and paper goods. In-home laundry and detergent are also provided for your convenience.

When you’re ready to get out and explore, it’s just a 5-minute walk down Sea Lane to the ocean and sandy beach. You can stroll up and down the sandy beach and wander along sandstone outcroppings or spread out your towels and enjoy some serious sunbathing with the crashing waves as a backdrop.

The Sunset West vacation rental is also conveniently located within walking distance of the Village of La Jolla. There is plenty of sightseeing along with shopping boutiques and several first-class dining options for the foodies in your group.

Perfect beach week for the family

Plenty of room for 4 couples and three kids. We brought our own air mattress for the youngest. Loved the rooftop patio for post dinner conversation and games. Easy five minute walk directly down Sea Lane to the ocean. (Tired kids managed the walk back by piggyback.) Kitchen accommodated the whole group for the week. Loved the heavy blackout shades in the large windows in the bedrooms to make sure everyone got plenty of sleep.

Great location, not ideal for toddlers

The location is great - walkable to the beach and restaurants. The rooms and amenities were very basic but sufficient for a short stay. We had some issues with the dishwasher, and the property manager was quick to send someone out to fix. Wouldn’t recommend with toddlers as there are wooden floors, a split level and a narrow spiral staircase, so felt a bit dangerous for them.

Great spacious La Jolla home in great location

The home was perfect for our group of 10 30-something year olds with 2 kids and a dog. There was ample dining and lounge space throughout the home and a lot of space for parking - 2 cars in the garage and 2 cars in the driveway. The home is in a great location - a few blocks from the beach, walking distance to shops and restaurants, would visit again.

La Jolla Wedding

My family and I came to La Jolla for a wedding. Our house was perfect for our large group. Location is great and the house had plenty of room for all of us. Great sunsets on the top deck. Kitchen is nicely updated and had everything we needed. Check-in was easy and the management was available if we needed anything.

Nice property. Plenty of room for 12 of us! Very little yard space, but deck on top is a nice plus! Only two complaints… first, there are very high ceilings in the house and hardwood floors, so the noise travels everywhere…. So when one or two are up, the rest of the house is awake soon. Second, furniture in living room is pretty minimal and not comfortable. We like comfy couches to snuggle and read with kiddos. Very small couch and 2 chairs. Adequate at best. But if you don’t plan to hang around the house much, works just fine.

Long Time Friends Reunion in La Jolla

We were a group of 7 long time friends that got together for a reunion in La Jolla. The house was perfect for us and had everything we needed. The house was extremely clean. Beds were very comfortable and plenty of room for us all to hang out. We spent a lot f time touring San Diego and the La Jolla area so did not make much use of the kitchen for meals as we mainly ate out. It was a great room to hang out in though for breakfast and drinks. We also really enjoyed the roof top deck and fireplace. The location was perfect - close to beach, great restaurants and shopping. We rented a vehicle and driving to from the airport and city was easy. A couple of suggestions would be a non slip backing on the living room carpet and bathroom mats as well as a few more racks to hang towels in the shared bathroom. The chairs at the table in the kitchen are quite uncomfortable. Mainly everything was perfect and I would highly recommend this property.

Great place for a family reunion

We loved the house! It is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The layout is good because it provides three separate spaces for sleeping quarters plus full bath; each area has sleeping accommodations for a different number of people-- two, four, and four respectively. We really enjoyed the roof area. We were in La Jolla for a family wedding and the space was perfect for us to entertain and meet with relatives. We would definitely book here again. The host staff was very responsive, although at least one issue we experienced just was not easily addressed so we elected to live with it- this decision was totally our choice-- the staff was very willing to address it immediately.

Awesome Wedding weekend

I have stayed at multiple VRBOs including Bluewater properties and this was absolutely one of the finest! Plenty of room in this large house for 9 to sit and eat together, spread out, sleep, etc. Everything is as described and I’d say even better. The top deck with fire pit was a nice place to see the ocean with a cup of coffee in the morning and cocktail at night. Overall we had a busy week getting our son married and this home could not have been better - easy walk to beach or cafes, grocery, etc. And super quick drive or Uber to wedding events in La Jolla. We did quite a bit of cooking and the grill and utensils, were great. Thanks again Bluewater 💙

Great property

We went with our kids and grandkids and had a blast. The property is exactly as shown on the website and was the cleanest place we’ve rented. The only downside is that we arrived before 4PM and the property was ready but we couldn’t get in. I received a text telling me if the property was available prior to 4PM I would be automatically notified but that didn’t happen. It’s a small issue but it was frustrating nonetheless. We will definitely be back!

Great place for grad weekend

Was a wonderful stay for my family coming to see me for graduation. House was near all the activity of La Jolla and the beaches. Traffic was the only issue, the streets around the house can be jammed up especially near the freeway at all hours. So if you’re planning to go anywhere, plan to experience 25 minutes of road traffic anytime earlier than 9 pm. Other than that, great place, clean, ready to go, seamless process.

This is a beautiful home that was perfect for our family vacation - clean, comfortable, great off-street parking, close to area attractions and easy check in/check out. Wedding Weekend
