This hotel is beautiful, with amazing service and a stunning pool! The breakfast offered plenty of variety, including healthy options, and everything was well prepared. The only downside is that it’s a bit of a walk to the old town and not very close to restaurants—but since we enjoy walking, it worked perfectly for us. Overall, a beautiful place to stay, and we’d definitely come back!

This is a brand new, beautiful hotel in a location that is about a 25 minute walk from Lagos central. We had booked months prior when the hotel first opened as was worried when I read the reviews but we had a pleasant comfortable stay and would not hesitate to stay again. Rooms are big enough especially by European standards. We had a sea view room which, as stated by other reviewers looked over an empty lot. This is not the hotels fault and we were able to watch the sunrise over the ocean every morning. It is a 5 minute walk to the Ponta de Piedade boardwalk and Praia do Camilo. The breakfast was the best we had at a hotel in Portugal with a large selection of hot and cold items including mimosas and an omelette station. The pool area is beautiful as well with many comfortable loungers and Bali beds. The only thing I found that could improve would be service. We ate at the restaurant late on the night of our arrival. It seemed that only certain staff could bring menus, take orders and bring the bill. We were very hungry since we hadn’t eaten since the am but I feel it could be more efficient. The food however was excellent. The other inconsistency would be in room housekeeping. We travelled with friends who had a complementary bottle of water every day after their room was tidied. We only received the initial day and one other but only after I requested it. We were there for 5 days and would have appreciated the bottle per day. We would stay here again!

Such a beautiful and new hotel. Very close to the beach. The sea view facing room is very calming especially the balcony provides relaxing vibe. The breakfast was delicious and mimosas every morning is the cherry on top!

Property is fairly new and modern. Room was decent would have liked a king size bed and more clothes storage. Pool is not heat but beautiful nonetheless. My biggest knock was the unfriendly bartenders in the evening in the lounge. They were not at all engaging or friendly.

Great aesthetics but in a new area so not much around in terms of restaurants. The beach is close so that’s nice and nice sunset and sunrise views feom the cliffs nearby. Welcoming staff was not as great. And no one helped me with my 3 suitcases. Long wait for check in and also breakfast.

The hotel is wonderful, very nice balcony with beautiful view of the ocean. Rides on Bolt were quick and usually about 5.00 to get to Old Town where everything is happening. The problem we have with the hotel is they are very understaffed in the dining room. Their system leaves the hostess stand unattended every time she/he seats someone and gets them water, etc. the menu is almost the same every night with slight variations. It also seems that when drink is ordered, the wait person has to walk out of the restaurant to a bar across the lobby, leaving them off the floor. That being said about dinner, the breakfast seems to be better staffed but it is a buffet. The same applies to the hostess stand being left unattended. If you don’t generally eat at the hotel restaurant, I would recommend it for everything else.

Great location, short walk to multiple beaches and 15 minute walk to the main strip. Very safe, very clean, amazing breakfast. The comments about waiting a bit for breakfast etc are valid, but it’s a vacation, typically you would wait under ten minutes. Would recommend to the hotel management to buy one more coffee machine or have a carafe of coffee, would increase table tuns decreasing wait times.

The Editory considers itself a 4.5 star hotel. I can’t see how this is possible. The photos of the views from on the website and Expedia do not match reality. When I expressed my disappointment, I was offered to change my room the following day but was warned it was the same view, just higher up. The woman helping me and I agreed it was not worth the inconvenience of changing rooms. In addition, in the room, there is mold and discoloration in the shower. On the tv guest services menu, it explains the mini bar is stocked and a price list was in the room for reference. Neither is true. There is no list and the mini bar was empty. When I shared this with the front desk, the woman challenged me saying the mini bar is only there to store your personal refreshments. When I told her about what the guest information was on the television, she was surprised snd completely unaware. With regards to the poolside restaurant. There is not enough seating to accommodate the size of the hotel. We had two servers. One amazing, the other abrupt and confused. When we asked for the bill, we were met with “Just wait a minute” and when the bill did arrive, it was wrong. I had hopes that the Editory could become my Algarve escape as I live in Portugal. I would not return unless management has a basic hospitality overhaul and is willing to be transparent about the construction site that surrounds the property.

I stayed at this newer hotel and was really impressed. The place looks sharp and modern, with a clean design that makes it stand out. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and spotless—definitely a great setup for a solid stay. One thing you don’t want to miss is the pool. It’s top-notch and makes the whole experience even better. Overall, a strong choice if you’re looking for a place that’s both stylish and comfortable.
