Literally no one at the front desk, both times i had to go to check in because when i showed up at 2 i was told ck in was 4 and they had no rooms clean. Highly unlikely. Then when came back after 6 i once again had to wait forever for someone to come to the front desk. However housekeeping was hanging on my door at 1030 when checkout is 11 asking for my dirty towels. Also brought to their attention that there was a piece of wood with about 14 nails sticking out of it on the ground. Nails up. Was told its part of picnic table.... ok but its not attached and definitely dangerous to step on in dark.

Wingate needs to do better to be a winner!

My husband and I stayed at the Wingate for 3 nights. The location right off of 87 was very convenient. In booking the room, I choice this hotel because of the hot tub in the Deluxe King Suite. It was nice to have and we didnt experience any issue with using it. Overall, it wasn't enough or worth choosing to stay here again. We arrived at 3:15pm....waiting at the desk lobby for 10mins...no staff around. Then we were told that check-in was at 4pm. I confirm our time for 3pm, the staffer acknowledged but said only if it was ready. Thankfully it was. The room amenities lacked. Not much effort was put into welcoming us. There was no extra blankets or pillows. No bag for laundry. Wifi pw didn't work. The lights over the hot tub were out. The bathroom was small but ok. There was no separate switch for the fan and light. The fans was so loud, I would just use the light from the hall vaniety when I need to use it. During our stay it rained. Afterward I noticed a few aunts crawling around. The worse was the breakfast. The creamer machine and one of the fountain drinks were out of order. No eggs and decaf coffee option only produced water. Only available options were carbs...cereal, muffins, bagels, waffles. The only decent protein was yogurt but it was in a metal container....not individual cups. Very disappointing that I didnt even want to go to for breakfast before checkout. The hotel is ok but it needs a personal, friendlier touch.

There is a homeless community set up behind the hotel. You can see them in the woods, rocking back and forth and just walking around. They have tents set up. When we asked if our vehicle would be safe, the front desk said yes, they don't usually bother any vehicles. ???.... This must be a normal thing.

I recently stayed at this hotel and, unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. From the moment I walked in, the property gave off a very dated vibe. The décor, furniture, and overall condition of the building looked like they hadn’t been updated in decades. Instead of feeling nostalgic, it came across as neglected. Cleanliness was also a major issue. The carpets looked stained, the walls were marked up, and there was a musty smell throughout the hallways and rooms. In my room, the bathroom fixtures had visible grime, and the linens didn’t feel particularly fresh. It gave me the impression that proper cleaning and upkeep are not priorities here. The internet was not working; you have to come to the lobby for it to work.

Pictures do not give accurate representation of property. Location is nice. No staff. Took an hour to check in. Dirty room. Asked for staff assistance and received bare minimum IF you could find someone. No handicap accessible elevator. Door keys barely worked. Moldy shower curtain. Dirty cacked shower vent. No trash bags. Broken ice machine. Reached out to Expedia who I booked through and let them know they should not do service with this facility.
