Location was great. We have a great view of the lake. Didn't need to drive, we rode our bike or walked.

Laying on the worst mattress in a noise chamber

Check-in was rough with the lady's lack of warmth and customer service. She babbled on an on with her coworker as several of us were waiting for check-in. No greeting whatsoever and no care about our time. The real nightmare was trying to sleep on a mattress made of rocks next to a highway. It felt like punishment as opposed to vacation. The location was fantastic but it come with a very uncomfortable price. Not impressed and will not return unless this place makes improvements. Horrible 👎👎

Great - Staff were friendly and the property is convienently located. The room was on the 7th floor and had a great view of the lake. Not Great - I didn't realize how busy this area of Lake Tahoe had become. It was REALLY noisy outside. Mostly construction and the noise of vehicular traffic starting at ~5am and going on until late at night. This combined with our room not having AC mean't that we had to try and sleep with the windows open. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep while we were there.

Overall, the property is centrally located and priced appropriately for what you get. However, it is very dated. - The elevator is small - fits no more than 4 adults, it’s very slow, and the permit is expired by a couple of years. - The rooms are small and old, but since we used this as just a place to sleep, the size wasn’t an issue. They do use a room spray, like febreze, that was quite overwhelming when we first got into the room. Highly suggest you keep the windows open to ventilate if you’re sensitive to strong fragrances as I am. -Beds were comfortable and clean, pillows were fine. - The parking is a bit of a hassle since we couldn’t fit in the underground spaces with our truck. Coming back after 9pm, we had to park on the street. - There’s no a/c which we were aware of but there is a fan and window in the bathroom that gives a good breeze. We didn’t feel comfortable keeping the front window open as it was right next to our bed and opened to the walkway. There was also road construction overnight during our stay so the sound was too loud to keep the window open anyways. - Check-in is slow as the front desk/lobby holds 1 person at a time so you wait outside if there’s multiple guests checking in. Also, our keys didn’t work the first try so we had to haul our stuff back down to get them to work. - There’s NO pool. It has been filled in with dirt and seemingly some lawn games and a coffee trailer. Not an issue for us but something to note.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room had everything we needed and the hotel is in a great location. They need to take more pride in the outside. The walkways and elevator was filthy and uninviting. It looks like nothing has been swept nor cleaned in the outdoor walkways and elevator for at least a year.

The lady that checked us in was really not friendly- maybe she was having an off day.. but she told my 2 kids in a really rude and condescending manner that the elevators were not a toy and the walkways were not runways.. granted I’m a public school teacher, yes sometimes kids need those kinds of reminders. But we had just gone into the office to check in and my kids were and are usually very well behaved.. Then the elevator, which was “not a toy” I would argue should also not be used in any manner- it’s permit had expired in 2024 and the whole thing sounded and felt very unreliable.. I was going to use the stairs after my first elevator trip but they had a sign posted that they were out of order.. so I used the fire escape route.. the whole property seems neglected a bit but the room did smell clean - almost too clean it was overwhelming we had to let it air out for hours. Then at night it was so loud and noisy, the fridge was really loud, and it was hot (no AC) so we had the window open, traffic was loud and the beds were the hardest beds I’ve ever tried to sleep on. The property was well located next to the beach and on the 5th floor we did have a nice view but that was about all the nice things I can say. Oh the decor was kinda cute too but not cute enough to overlook all the updating and maintenance the property needs.

This is a ski and summer property, worn outside from ski boots tromping in and out but the room was clean and the views from the 7th floor are the best! The individual that checked us in was very accomodating. Jacuzzi tub didn't function but I didn't inquire about it, used it as a soaking tub. Make sure to park straight due to the tight spots.

Staff was extremely nice and helpful-however they were doing very loud road construction right outside the hotel- think gravel trucks, grinders, pavers, jackhammering- until 5am. We were not told this upon check in and when we called down to ask about the time they would stop- they knew it was overnight but failed to tell us at check in. The entire room vibrated the whole night. The staff, while apologetic, said the GM said no one would get any refund or compensation. I said I was just upset we were not told so we could make the decision to move to another hotel. We had a very early morning and got zero sleep. As a side note- the beds were very old, could feel bed springs through mattress. I would never stay here again and will be making a complaint to the GM about the lack of respect for not letting people know about construction when they said it’s been going on for days.

Non existent customer service

Rooms are hot. Poor air circulation. Window fan was offered but never delivered. Beds are hard and uncomfortable. They had quarters for someone else but not for us. 3 nights and every night they were working on roads pretty much in front of hotel. Also we couldn’t get room service because we didn’t request it upon check in. On another note Rosie’s has very good breakfast.

Weekend Trip

Great location! Great price point. However you will get what you pay for. There were very few amenities. The pool is not open. There is no free breakfast. It's almost like staying at a motel. But with a great view! Additionally, all of my food went sour in the fridge which I have no idea how that happened. The manager does plan to reach out to me regarding that situation. Also the stairs and railing seem a little bit unsafe. I was on the the 6th floor with under two and it was a little worrisome.

I never leave negative reviews, but this one was well earned. It was terrible. Dirty, dangerous broken steps, gross room, terrible bed. Literally an awful nights sleep. No ac and the in room fan was broken. It was so bad we checked out the next morning and didn’t stay the second night. We were still charged for two full nights. I would never ever go back there. Do yourself a favor and never stay here.

The hotel was probably nice in the 1970's, but hasn't been maintained since. Lights burned out, bird poop, terribly weathered, pool filled in with dirt, everything dirty outside, crappie repairs in the room etc. The worst part was the all night jack hammering in the street in front of the property. I talked with the construction supervisor and he said they informed the hotel management 5 days before we arrived and they did not even mention it. Trying to sleep with jackhammering from 9pm to 6 am is not enjoyable on a vacation.
