It was amazing :)
The staff was very nice and made the stay super cool. Room was clean, tidy and veery beautiful with a view of the ocean. I enjoyed the breakfast alot.
Our 4-day stay at Kijani was wonderful and relaxing. The staff were exceptional -- from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant -- warm, friendly, attentive, efficient, accommodating. We miss Kijani and hope to return one day again.
Lovely, helpful staff and a great location, right by the water where you look down on everyday life, dhows, donkeys and all. Quiet garden with pool and sunloungers. Excellent rooftop restaurant. 30 minute walk to Lamu or short boatride.
Large, traditional rooms so don't expect TVs.
It was a great location with very friendly staff.
The shower , wifi and ac were poor . There was no fridge in the room and the place closed down at 9:30 pm . It was overpriced for the service . Breakfast was great
The Kijani is a beautiful Hotel with well kept tropical grounds and aesthetically pleasing rooms and suits. Rooms are furnished with Swahili antiques. The breakfast is delicious with a vast MenĂŒ to choose from. The restaurant has a gorgeous view over the bay. Restaurant provides gourmet experiences of international and Swahili cuisine which can match Restaurants in Los Angeles or elsewhere. Staff is accommodating is super friendly. If you are looking to unplug from western civilization but still spoil yourself the Kihjani is an excellent choice
Kijani is a beautiful hotel on the waterâs edge in Shela Village, Lamu. Traditional Swahili architecture, simple rooms, verandahs with daybeds suspended from the roof from which you can also gaze at the stars at night; gracious staff
and good food make for a perfect stay. Superb yoga classes are nearby at Banana House and Lamu town is a walk, boda ride or boat ride away. Bougainvillea and coconut palms are Abu sang in the garden- and thereâs a small pool for cooling off if you donât fancy the beach. A really beautiful
and peaceful location.
I cannot say enough good things about Kijani and its amazing staff. Tito and his team were all very welcoming, warm and personable, and always went above and beyond for their guests. The place in itself is beautiful, airy and peaceful, beautifully designed and centrally located. The food was amazing and everything was so fresh.
It's been over 30 years since I've been back in Kenya and our stay in Kijani was the perfect homecoming. I look forward to returning to Lamu and know that Kijani will be the place we'll set up base at. I'd say it felt like a home away from home, but it was better than that. Thank you so much to everyone there, you all are the very best.
Hotel y jardin estĂĄn en condiciones perfectos y con muchos detalles decorativos de la cultura suaheli.el personal es extraordinariamente amable. PasĂĄbamos unas dĂas inolvidables.
Lovely small hotel, right on the seafront in Shela. Attentive, friendly staff and delightful gardens including a small pool. The food is excellent and the rooftop restaurant is relaxed with fabulous views across the bay.
My room was clean and spacious, with a ceiling fan, safety deposit box and comfortable king size bed.
The hotel is well located in Shela village - the main Shela beach, often deserted, is spectacular and is a five minute wall away. and Lamu town is a 20 minute walk away or can be reached by boat taxi.
Delightful place - highly recommended.
We had such an amazing stay - the room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and all the staff were so friendly and helpful.
The hotel is located right on the beach - you can swim here, or its just a 10min walk to the amazing Shela beach.
If you are a light sleeper, just be aware that there is a mosque nearby which may wake you up with the call to prayer - I didn't mind this at all as it's all part of the cultural experience. Just flagging to those who might want to bring earplugs!
All in all - we really had such a great stay. I can't wait to return.
Kijani is a super-charming hotel with a good restaurant and a really helpful staff. The only issue we had was that the power went out one night that we were there, leaving us too hot and sweaty to sleep.
Kijani is located in Shela, a quick water taxi ride to/from Limu and the airport. We enjoyed the hotel and the surrounding neighborhood. It was comfortably low key during our "low season" stay.
Everyone is very friendly and helpful at the hotel. We felt very safe staying there. The breakfast, included in price, was rich & delicious!
Our room was cleaned diligently daily and they were very nice with providing us beach towels etc whenever we needed. I highly recommend staying here. However, be careful with which room you choose to stay in. Rooms looking the ocean side are beautiful, but the ones in the back are dark and surely do not have the same vibe.
We stay 3 nights in this nice Hotel, the Food was very good but the beer was to expansive, 1 tusker form a waiter was 650 KHS, about 6,50 Euro, too much for Kenya.
I was the first time in Lamu, but i meet a cheater and loos 6,500 KHS, my first time i meet a cheater in Kenya after 5 time Kenya. I never go to Lamu
