Thornwood Cottage is the perfect little get away

Thornwood cabin is a beautifully wood-crafted space that is easily accessible from the main driveway. This cabin offers a small living area with new queen size sleeper sofa, equipped with a small kitchen, as well as a loft that includes a queen-sized bed. It provides a private space within very close proximity to the Thornwood house. This will have all outside hookups to charge your fishing boat, perfect for those seasoned fisherman! This a cabin, so the bathroom is not inside the cabin, but is just a few steps off the deck. It is solely for this cabin, has just been remodeled. There is an outside entrance from the Thornwood house. This is a full functioning bathroom, with newly remodeled toilet and shower. There is solar lighting on the path to bathroom, flashlight is also hanging by the door if needed. The fire pit is just a few steps out back of the cabin, wood is available to purchase at a reasonable price. Note - we do rent both the Thornwood house and the cabin separately , so there may be other guest staying at the other location.

A place for true relaxation

We had a great time. This neat little cottage is extremely clean and tidy. It has everything you could possibly need. It is located in a very beautiful area. The owners are very kind and responsive.

This "cottage" was cute and sufficed for a couple nights stay. Had I been hiking, hunting, or super casual it would have been better suited. Not having a restroom attached and air-conditioned was a struggle for my sister. This lodging is not for anyone with mobility issues of any kind nor for anyone who dislikes middle of the night trips outside to use a restroom. I think it was an "experience". Had I read the wording better when booking I likely would have passed it by due to lack of restroom within.

Peaceful and Cozy place to stay

Thornwood cabin was super cozy for my husband and me for a weekend getaway. Convenient location to get to Lansing, boat ramp, gas stations, etc. But secluded enough to enjoy the scenery (even heard a male turkey gobbling behind the house the day we left). We are already planning our next trip and plan to use Thornwood cabin in the future.

Peaceful getaway

This place had everything we needed for a peaceful, relaxing weekend away from home. Beautiful location, and we enjoyed watching the deer that dared to venture into the yard. Check-in and check-out procedures were extremely simple. I highly reccommend it!

So very quiet!

My husband and I spent three nights at this beautiful cabin! It is in a lovely location with trees and bluffs behind. Has everything you need to have a quiet retreat in Nature. Up a short hill, there’s a fire pit and chairs to allow star gazing away from the yard light. We opted to use the futon bed on the first floor which was very comfortable. Took a minute to figure out the bathroom lock - quick call to the host is all it took as I was over thinking it. Lovely hosts, beautiful scenery, very clean with everything one needs to be far from the madding crowd!

Stay in Driftless Area

Property worked out very well for 6 night stay and exploration of bluff region. I stayed with my dog and the large yard area was perfect for throwing her ball and exercise. Otherwise I spent time bird watching up and down the River and hiking around a bit. I also stopped at the Madigan Winery and ate a couple times at the "Safe House" in town and at the "Great River Inn" across the river..

Fantastic Stay

Me and my girlfriend needed a place to be by ourselves for a weekend and it was perfect. It was clean and had everything it needed. It was quite cold, so be prepared for that if you’re staying in the winter. Very excellent!

Nice Small Cabin

It's a really nice property out in the country. It is well taken care of. It would be great for a husband and wife with 2 kids. A group of 4 friends, you'd have to share beds or figure something else out. The bathroom is detached but it is a very nice bathroom. It's a nice comfortable place to stay.

No bathroom access

The bathroom code would not work when we tried to use it for a second time. So no bathroom available to shower or use the rest of it. I don't know if it was something we didn't do. Just could not get it to open up. (The bathroom is located in another building outside the cottage.} There was no backup to the code if it failed. You can use your imagination as what we had to do.
