Publié le 20 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThe location, although not on the river was great. Did not see the property manager once which I didn’t mind. Their convenience store was never open. The cabin itself was poorly made with the cheapest materials. The bathroom was so tiny that my knees and head hit the wall trying to use. The shower needs a definite make over. Three quarter tub with your gradmother’s old pink tile. The walls are plywood. Kitchen adequate. Appreciated the full size fridge. Dining table was great. Porch was covered and large but needs a new paint job. Mattresses were old. Flying bugs were a problem; now I know why they provide a flyswatter. Two small ac units were adequate except no air flow in Bathroom. The grounds were quiet and restful. Despite my evaluation, I would be willing to stay there again by myself, but not sure I would bring my family there.

Thank you for your review. There are other cabins with larger showers/tubs if you felt this was inadequate you could have very well reached out! The store was open Saturday, Sunday morning, and the morning of your departure, so do not understand where you say it was not open! We have never had a review regarding the way the Ranch is built, but it is not plywood for the record. Unfortunately, we do spray quarterly, but this is the Hill Country with lots of bugs and some do manage to get in. As for our mattresses, they are changed out yearly, so hardly “old” as you described. We do thank you for your review but this is why we give our pre check in welcome to let guests know they can reach out with ANY concerns so instead of only hearing about it on a review, we can remedy the situation and accommodate them as much as possible!

Convenient access to Garner State Park

Good home base for Garner, Lost Maples, 3 Sisters etc.
Publié le 1 janv. 2024 sur HomeAwayBeing in Leakey was a fantastic starting point for lots of nature adventures, and this little cottage got the job done, though I wish I'd paid closer attention to just how close the property is to the highway; it's such a peaceful area until you hear a car blast by. Finally, I felt pretty uncomfortable staying as a solo female traveler because the only other person on the entire property all weekend was single dude. He stayed directly in the cabin next to me and could see all my comings and goings. I realize this is out of the hosts hands, but just something to be aware of as a possibility.

Thank you for the review. Leakey is a very beautiful, peaceful area with lots of scenic areas and we are so glad you were able to enjoy it. Honestly, we have never had a complaint of highway noise for the Ranch as the Cozy is much closer and can hear big trucks pass by, but even in the office ( that’s right next to the highway) I cannot hear traffic noise unless my cameras are turned up. We are so sorry to hear this inconvenienced you and suggest maybe renting one of the cabins further from the highway. Our office manager was also out there off and on all weekend, but would have happily either moved you or stayed to make you feel more comfortable. We have honestly never had an issue with someone feeling uncomfortable with another guest and would like you to contact us so we may better understand the situation and see what exactly made you uncomfortable. We take pride in being there for our guests and giving the best experience possible!

Cute and quaint.

Thank you for the review. You received our discounted rate of $68 a night, so I am trying to understand how this is overpriced. We do provide sheets and towels for a very minimal fee and would have been happy to oblige as we do for many guests who like to travel light! We have never had complaints about the beds, however we will certainly look into this! Most of our mattresses are plush with plush mattress toppers. However, we take every thing into consideration and are always looking for ways to improve.

Whiskey Mountains Cabins
Publié le 31 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwayThis is a great place to stay, we were absolutely satisfied with our experience. There were a few things that were interesting but clearly defined. Such as there was bedding provided but not sheets, as well as pillows but no pillow cases. The AC worked great and the small kitchen provided a great area to do what we needed. It was an absolutely perfect place for us to stay in our short stint there.

Perfect pet friendly cabin

Nice and cozy, but the best part was the communication and attentiveness of the host! She went above and beyond to make sure we knew the area, and the ins and outs of the property.

Humble stay

My only complaint is the tiny bathroom. We reallyenjoyed th beautiful scenery and bbq /bonfire opportunities. Was a great stay and fits a budget.

Thank you for the good review. We are so glad you found the ranch to fit all your needs. The Ranch does have a cozier bathroom. I might suggest renting the Leakey or Uvalde duplex for any future stays due to the larger bathroom accommodations. It is very serene and peaceful here at Whiskey Mountain and try to fit everyone's budget needs. I am glad you had a great experience with us and we look forward to more!
