HĂŽtel avec spa prĂšs de Champ de course de Keeneland
The Kentucky Castle offers its guests a full-service spa and a seasonal outdoor pool. There's a restaurant on site. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. Public spaces have free WiFi.
The Castle is the most gorgeous hotel in Kentucky. There are giant chandeliers, Castle towers with beautiful strings of lights, lovely gardens. We had a wonderful time. The service was perfect.
There are extra fees tagged onto everything! I paid for the stay and then at checkout I was charged an extra $50 plus tax! At the spa I was charged taxes and fees, 20% gratuity and then taxes on top of that. The advertised $280 for facial and massage became $373. The room was nicely decorated, but it certainly shows signs of wear and tear. There was very little water pressure.
The staff was so kind and the place is pretty. The Kentucky Castle is a nice novelty for a day visit, but not to stay.
This place was so unique, it made you feel like you were in a real castle. The food was great, staff were very helpful and very friendly. If there was any way to improve on the Kentucky castle I would have to say they could have the staff wear uniforms like you would imagine in a real castle. đ. Well done as is though
Skip this place. At $500/night, I was expecting to be wowed. Instead it was a sterile, very outdated furnishings and decor (not outdated from a period specific standpoint...which would have been pretty cool). Grounds were pretty plain, and not much going on past the castle structure itself. This despite the fact that they nickel and dime you for "grounds landscaping and maintenance" (the manager's explanation for add'l charges added to our bill).
Restaurant boasts farm to table, but dishes definitely did not appear to follow that claim. Second day we skipped the restaurant and went down the road for a better meal at 1/3 of the cost with better ingredients.
Do yourself a favor and drive by the place, maybe even get out and walk around, then go on to something better, like The Manchester Hotel.
The Castle needs a good renovation overhaul. The room was spacious with big furniture but otherwise nothing great and run down. Staff was friendly but didnât go out of their way (we were there to celebrate an accomplishment of my child and definitely let them know⊠to which they suggested I pay for an upgrade⊠even a little handwritten âgreat job kid weâre so proud of youâ would have gone a long way.) Noise traveled easily into our room but quiet hours were respected so we got good sleep. Wish it had been more exciting, magical, and less run down. The highlight was the morning where it was too cold to swim but my kid begged⊠no one was out so the pool staff put offered to put on whatever music my kid wanted. She happily listened to Ariana Grande for the 20 mins she lasted in the cold weather though!!! We ended up spending very little time there and could have had a spectacular hotel room somewhere else for the cost of this room. Again, wasnât terrible, but wasnât worth the $$$$.
We booked the "glamping" tent site. Unfortunately for us, the temp was 95 degrees. The temp had only one fan and it was stifling hot. Our goal was to relax at the pool until the sunset. The tiny pool water was turbid and warm as coffee. There was NOTHING refreshing about it. The changing room at the pool and the bathroom for the tent site were not air conditioned. I couldnt comfortably dress for our dinner reservation. We chose to go home and enjoy the luxury of our own air conditioning. This outdoor experience booking shouldnt be offered when outside temperatures are hot.
We stayed in the glamping tent for a one-night adventure. The weather was perfect for it. It was peaceful and beautiful views. We ordered a steak to bring back instead of traveling to another restaurant.
Freezing temperatures last night, much too cold to be outside. Would not transfer to a heated room without charging another room rate and there were available rooms! Very bad experience. Planned to book a group event in future but will not now.
