Didn't like mattress, bit hard and was two singles zipped together to make a double which my husband found uncomfortable. The bath had hair in it and skirting needed cleaning. Wall at dressing table had drink splashes and some mucky marks. Need higher srandard of cleaning. We gad booked a table in the restaurant upon check-in but when we went in for dinner the lady couldn't find our reservation and she was not pleasant. Thank goodness our waitress, named Tash was excellent. Good parking and nice area.

Lovely stay!

Parking is easy, loads of spaces. Our room was huge, it was a shame there wasn’t a comfy chair to sit in, there was plenty of space for one. Comfy beds, a big tv and tea and coffee facilities were provided. It was an accessible room so the bathroom was huge with a shower. My only complaint was the noisy family upstairs, it was awful but there’s not much I could do about that. I can recommend the food, the main meals were very nice but the breakfast comes highly recommended! This was the second time we’ve stayed here and the pub really needs a refurb. But saying that the staff are lovely, food is good you can’t really ask for more and I would go again anytime!

Very clean and comfortable room. Checking in at the bar in the restaurant/pub was a bit strange but worked ok. Worth trying the breakfast in the pub restaurant. Great value and tasty.

I liked most things. The bed was one of the most comfortable on which I have slept. The bath was really nice, long and comfortable. The hot water was hot whenever I wanted it. I ate at the restaurant three evenings. The food was reasonably good but I feel that apart from the jam sponge and custard, the puddings were trying too hard and were too complex to sound attractive. I think that simpler puddings would be far better. I liked two of my main courses, the sausages and mash, and the Cowboy Burger, but the third was disappointing. It was the chicken and mushroom pie that had far too little filling and far too much pastry. I also wondered why it came with a huge amount of strongly flavoured gravy, though I did find that it was quite nice with the peas. I would have preferred a non-fried potato to the chips it came with. Mashed potatoes would have been ideal but a baked potato or simple boiled potatoes with herbs and butter would have suited the dish better (and gone better with the gravy.) The one problem that I had was with the online checkout; it didn't work properly but maybe the problem was the device and browser I chose to use. I used my iPad with DuckDuckGo.

Very pleasant would use again

I modern hotel with all the facilities you require. Plenty of car parking space available. Staff were friendly and helpful. As we were not local to the area we relied on the Sat Nav to locate the hotel, it took us to another part of Woodcocks Lane. To programme Sat Nav use Burton Waters.
