Endroit parfait pour couper de tout quelques jours : - 5 cabanes seulement, avec souvent la plage pour nous seuls, - belle petite plage avec une mer turquoise en face des cabanes, - service 5 Ă©toiles aux petits soins, - excellente cuisine avec des produits trĂšs frais, - pas grand chose d'autre Ă  faire que de se reposer / relaxer.

Un coin de paradis au pieds d’une mer turquoise

ArrivĂ©e le dimanche matin par un beau soleil Ă  Belize City, un accueil par un membre de l’équipe fort sympathique. AprĂ©s 10 min de route nous voici sur un ponton pour monter Ă  bord du bateau nous menant sur l'Ăźle. 30 minutes de navigation plus tard nous sommes accueillis par un cocktail de bienvenue et une visite de notre cottage accĂ©s directe Ă  la mer. Notre sĂ©jour de 12 nuits sur place a Ă©tĂ© agrĂ©menter par une escale de 3 jours dans le second centre proche des temples mayas dans le centre du pays. Notre sĂ©jour fĂ»t franchement une superbe rĂ©ussite avec un personnel au petit soin et les partons français qui ont su nous guider vers les excursions qui nous ont fait dĂ©couvrir ce trĂšs beau pays.

Amazing heavenly and nearly private island.

This place is fairly unique. A heavenly island with turquoise waters, on a small caye surrounded by mangrove. The 5 beach bungalows offer great comfort and a beautiful view to the sea. Food is good, although should take more into account the customers requests and bring more variety in dishes... Great staff, always smiling and willing to help if you have a request. However, beyond good will, we found the overall service a bit amateur... For instance, lack of anticipation in service : no refill of the minibar if you don't ask (twice) for it. Same with the water fountain in room. And you would then wait a solid hour for it... For such a price, you would expect perfection.

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Once you arrive in Belize City, you are chartered to a marina (15 min) then taken by boat (30 min) to the island. You are greeted by staff immediately with cocktails waiting for you. The stay is intimate
 you are 1 of 32 max guests on an island. (During our stay there were maybe 15 guests total at one time). Which means it is easy to schedule all activities on a whim. We as novice did reef fishing, kayaking in the ocean, reef snorkeling! All meals and an afternoon “bar snack” are provided with an open bar for your enjoyment. The staff are amazing and cater to your every need while giving you the privacy to enjoy your vacation. All were great but specifically Andre, Obi, Glinda, Daisy, Reddy, Michael, Percy, Evelyn treated us like family. Would love to return!

This is a beautiful island. Great vacation if you want a quiet, relaxing and secluded time. The food was amazing. You need to take a boat off the island to do excursions and that can be pricey. Also, if you like to watch TV at night, you should take a tablet, since the villas do not have TV’s.

Shaka Caye is a MUST for people who enjoy the tranquility of a tropical island, but have the option for ADVENTURE. Not only is there much to do on the island (kayaking, sand volleyball, paddle boarding, local sea life, a near-by caye you can explore all on your own-) you can charter a boat to enjoy Caye Caulker, snorkeling and cave tubing. My partner and I aimed to do charter a boat for an inland-adventure, but ultimately were so enchanted by what the island had to offer we just stayed put :) Shaka Caye did help coordinate a fly-fishing expedition, with success! Shout-out to Jamal- The staff at Shaka Caye was stellar from the moment we got on the tender to the island. They were friendly, shared about themselves, were fun to talk to socialize with and beyond accommodating. From Obi showing off his carefully-crafted-creative cocktails with Michael by his side, to Daisy making sure things ran smoothly, Percy giving us the low-down about meals with his charismatic spin- we were full of joy the entire time. Glenda in the office even let me quickly borrow her scanner- Please also understand not once were we hungry, and everything we were served was top-notch and came with options. The rooms were beautiful, modern (tasteful) temperature controlled and well-kept. If you are considering Shaka Caye for your island vacation, do not hesitate!

Really lovely ‘get away from everyday life’ holiday. Super helpful and friendly staff (who work so hard), food choices were great and liked how quiet and peaceful the small island is. So relaxing made it very hard to want to do anything! Only tip to add: if you’re a pasty white ‘gringo’, make sure to pack a decent insect repellent as when the wind drops and the sun is out, so are the sand flies. The staff recommend baby oil! Would recommend coming to Shaka Caye in a heartbeat.

Lovely and quiet little island, half an hour by boat from Belize city! The local team provides excellent hospitality! Many thanks to Magnoly, Daisy and Glenda for their services and support! Rodwell for spoiling us and last but not least Edwin for being such a nice and attentive Captain initiating me on my first fishing trip! Kudos to the Chef for the amazing food! This small corner of paradise is definitely unforgettable!

Shaka Caye was the most amazing island and vacation I've ever been on! From the time we got to the marina, the boat ride to the island we were greeted with a cold towel and drink and friendly staff!! Each and every staff member was AMAZING, and friendly and wanted our stay to be the best! We celebrated 2 birthdays while we were there and they all went above and beyond to make them special. From homemade birthday cakes they brought out to us while singing happy birthday, to decorating our room with palm leaves and special birthday message on the bed. At times we were the only visitors on the island so we got to explore and hang out with the staff and it was just such an awesome place to be! I would go back in a heart beat! The food was phenomenal with it being farm/sea to table, there was no food that I did not enjoy, it was all sooooo yummy! If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! We love Shaka Caye and all our Shaka Caye friends!

We traveled there for a family vacation. The staff is outstanding. The location is also beautiful. My only critique would be the need of a pool and reconditioning the beach and the beach front wall. The food is outstanding. The staff is incredibly accommodating and very friendly. Definitely would highly recommend to families and or couples.

We loved our time at Shaka Caye. It was a dream come true, perfect for swimming in the ocean, kayaking & relaxing. We enjoyed watching a family of dolphins from the restaurant balcony while eating breakfast. We went snorkeling, booked a day trip to Alton Ha & the midnight cave, went deep sea fishing, Day trip to Caye Caulker where we petted nurse sharks, fed the tarpon, saw stingrays & enjoyed the shops & restaurants. We were well taken care of on all of the excursions & enjoyed the one on one treatment we received. The food was delicious & fresh! I highly recommend Shaka Caye!

I never thought I would be able to experience a private island in the Caribbean. This place is incredibly beautiful, clean and quiet with the best service and staff. The food was absolutely amazing and all 3 meals can be served right to your cottage every day. They offer several different adventures to add on. One that we did was the private snorkeling tour with Andre at the mesoamerican barrier reef. I traveled with my elderly mother who wouldn't have been able to swim the reef, so they pulled her around with a life raft while she observed the reef. If you want a private Caribbean vacation without the crowds, book Shaka Caye. We were so pampered that we didn't want to leave.

This was such a gem! Private island with few guests made this stay such a unique experience. The service was EXCEPTIONAL and everyone was so kind and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for anything better. One note is that if you want to do anything off the island, it's a process to take a 40 min boat ride to the main land. Well worth the stay if you want to relax and stay on the beach!

Let’s just start by saying WOW. If you want breathtaking moments and one of a kind experience this is the place for you. The staff, location, amenities, everything and more. If you want to relax by yourself, have everything brought to you or have great time at the bar and dining area choice is yours. No pressure anyway you want to enjoy your stay. Everything you can need is offered (kayaking, snorkeling, fishing, sleeping under the starts listening to the waves and more) if you want tours and other adventures you’re covered. Highly recommend the stress reliever massage. Everyone is so friendly. We got to meet the captains of our boat Edwin and Andre right away with a great trip in. We were greeted with cold towels and drinks the moment we arrived. Veronica was great anything you need she has an answer and solution right away. Our bartenders Randy, Percy and Obie were stunning. With local drinks or if you don’t know what you want just ask for something or anything they want to make. These drinks were truly one of a kind. The chefs at Shaka Caye beautifully showcased Belizean cuisine as they had 2 options to choose from for every meal (my husband and I got one of each and shared everything) plus they give you a tasty snack in the afternoon. I’m going to miss my fry jack in the morning! Our first trip to Belize was truly unBELIZEable. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to end our honeymoon! We will be back for sure. Shaka Caye has made sure of that.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at Shaka Caye, Belize! The staff exceeded all expectations, catering to our every need with the utmost care. Setting up excursions was a breeze—special thanks to Veronica, who was wonderfully accommodating and made sure everything was taken care of effortlessly. Our bartender and server, Percy, was outstanding! His service was impeccable, and he went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. The food was delicious and truly elevated, keeping us excited for every meal with its variety and high quality. The warmth and kindness of the staff made the experience feel like we were among family. Their genuine care was so refreshing. The island itself is stunning—peaceful, tranquil, and a slice of paradise. We loved the activities too, with kayaks and snorkeling gear provided, making it easy to explore the beauty around us. Shaka Caye is more than just a resort; it’s an escape to paradise created by the most authentic, caring people. We can’t wait to come back!

Our stay was excellent! Requests made in advance for services and a special birthday surprise were all easily accommodated. The bartender/waiter became our best friend by the end of the trip. The food? Chef's kiss! Every single meal was either delightful or delicious. Every staff member we met was incredibly friendly. We were the only guests on the island, and everyone still made it special. It was completely safe and relaxing. A tip for drinkers: We supplemented our liquor from the airport duty-free store and were able to use it for our cocktails.
