Really liked the people and the lodge. But the city or country rations the electricity--in a country that should be exporting hydroelectric power, meant that power was off for hours and wifi was sporadic. Sad.
Had a fabulous stay there, very friendly and helpful staff, lovely food, really nice garden to beat the heat. Very central too. All round a great stay.
Kamunjila is a wonderful place to stay! The property is beautiful & staff were so helpful with making arrangements to visit the sites around Livingstone and beyond. The food was really good and they had a number of options to choose from. This lodge really makes you feel like youâre at home.
Kamunjila had a very homely , local feel and the staff were always very attentive and welcoming. Itâs not as flash as other hotels or as near to the falls as other places but you get a very personal service in beautiful natural surroundings, and an insight of how the locals live. It was very quiet and relaxing at the lodge and you could walk in to town and get taken places by drivers at the lodge or local taxi drivers at a very reasonable rate. The lodge itself was reasonably priced which meant we could spend more on trips. We went to the waterfront hotels to eat and see the sunset a couple of times and there were plenty of options to eat in the town. Also the lodge offer food as and what you need it. We were mother and daughter travelling alone, and felt safe and looked after. The staff were very helpful. Thank you Kamunjila team.
We ended up staying here quite by accident as the place I had booked earlier had made a mistake leaving me with a few days before our trip to find somewhere else. Thankfully there was one room left at Kamunjila.
Kamunjila Lodge surpassed our expectations. Silvia, the receptionist was beyond helpful and friendly. The cook was talented and could even make dishes for our picky kids. The owner gave us great tips for going between the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of Victoria Falls.
I loved the laid back, warm, and friendly atmosphere. The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable with room for our sons and my husband and I connected by the bathroom so it felt like a little apartment. The pool was lovely, they have an on-site artist you can watch work, and they even mailed my postcards for me (*even though I may be the only person left who still sends them!)
I highly recommend you give them a try.
We really enjoyed our stay at Kamunjila and everyone made us feel welcome! The rooms, pool, and other areas look just like the photos. The rooms were simple but use some eco-features, which I appreciated. The food was excellent and it was convenient having the restaurant and bar there when we returned from activities each day - the staff were wonderful and very accommodating. The pool was also very refreshing. Everything was very clean and the neighboring area is nice (I took runs on the sidewalks every morning). I would stay here again!
What a lovely stay! The lodging was beautiful, spotless rooms, hot water and good WiFi. Tasty, fresh hot coffee and continental breakfast. Also, Kamunjila is very centrally located to the middle of town - walking distance to the market, Limpo's, Fairmount, and other restaurants/bars/popular Livingstone haunts, all for an unbeatable price. Would highly recommend!
The property is exactly as advertised...... however, due to power cuts there was no electricity for up to 12 hours a day. There was therefore no air conditioning. Food is anything that can be cooked on gas. If you need an air conditioned room then you had better call first to see if they managed to buy a generator, which are worth their weight in gold at the moment. Also bring LOTS of mosquito spray for the bedrooms
ItÂŽs a small lodge with a good atmosphere. The hosts, Isabel and Jonathan, are very friendly and do everything to meet your requirements. They arrange activities for their guests and will help them at any problems. The whole complex is created and constructed tastefully. Breakfast and dinner are good and rich. The employees are very friendly. Rooms including bathrooms and showers are clean and commodious. We felt very well here.
