The rooms have a strange layout, with doors to toilet and shower but with open sink area. This means that the (movement instigated) toilet light shines into the sleeping area if the toilet is used during darkness which can be disruptive to sleep. The breakfast area is in the foyer area, this means it becomes very loud, especially as the hotel seems popular with groups. When busy the breakfast staff become overwhelmed with dirty crockery piling up on tables and running out of cups, spoons etc, although the food was also replenished. Overall I would be happy to stay for night, but the irritations would put me off staying here again.

Nice little hotel! Very clean and comfortable. Great location, central to a lot of local attractions and cafes/restaurants. We did not try the buffet breakfast as 18 EUR seemed excessive per person.

Wonderful location & a new building. Breakfast buffet was well worth the extra charge. They have an outside patio to enjoy your breakfast or tapas. The tapas lounge offered just the right amount of good quality food. All staff— front desk & housekeeping were very friendly & helpful. Location is excellent. Breakfast is good. The layout of the room is not perfect as wash basin is in open area facing the bed!! Rooms are a bit compact.

The hotel was really nice, well located, the room was spacious with a really good bed. The girls at the reception were amazing, they helped us with an early checkin until a lot of hours traveling, and also gave us a free drink at the bar as a VIP benefit. We definitely recommend the hotel!

This hotel was amazing. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and couldn’t do enough for you. The room was clean and had everything you need, including tea and coffee. There was so much choice at breakfast! It’s in a brilliant area and a 5 minute walk to the old town. We had the best time and would definitely return.

Need to put AC instructions in the rooms as we went 2 days with out AC. Rang the front desk gave instructions over the phone but still didn’t work. Window needed to be shut we didn’t realise cleaners open them and we didn’t know had to be shut. A technician was called AC filter was clogged up with dust and window wasn’t shutting properly. Our sheets were left dirty the second day and dirty towel left. Other then that lovely

The Front Desk Staff, was great! Very friendly people. I got my free drink for being Expedia Silver Status. That was really nice! The room was nice! Spacious Bed and Shower. Strong WIFI. Location is in a respectable part of Downtown Ljubljana. Right next to Kongresni Trg. (Congress Square) Close to the Ljubljana River and Ljubljanski Grad. Plenty of Restaurants and Tourist Spots close by. Try to take the Opti Shuttle to and from the Ljubljana Airport. It will definitely save you money. Ljubljana Airport is in the middle of a Forest pretty much. In Summary. Hotel Occidental is a pretty classy place. Good Breakfast Buffet. Rooms are nice. Great location. If I go back to Ljubljana. I’ll definitely come back to Hotel Occidental.
