This Hotel came up in a search for 3/4 star hotels, that it is not. Upon googling the hotel, it is listed as a refurbished hostel at 2stars!
It is very dated and not what can be called refurbished, with cracked plaster, exposed pipes, I had to hang a towel over the bathroom fan to cover the window, no heating in the bathroom, clump of hair stuck to my foot on arrival, breakfast basic compared to any other hotel and no reception area apart from in the breakfast room, which is shut from 10pm and windows covered, where I think staff sleep, as a sheet was hanging out of the side of a sofa bed chair next to thendesk(which is all in the breakfast roomâŠ.where poorly hung dated floral curtains were not even opened for breakfast. This was meant to be a treat away aside hospital checks and I found it depressing and as a single traveller, not overly comfortable! The inner door in my room could not be used as a second security as the Yale lock was hanging off. As well as the shower room, which was clean, there was a basin in the bedroom, which didnât drain and the pedestal was taped over the broken away side. Grubby old night storage heaters still in situ, although there were working gas radiators.. hardly slept both nights due to the creaking floorboards and doors shutting loudly in early hours, prettymuch a restless uncomfortable stay sadly.
I mostly blame Expedia for misrepresentation of a low budget hotel. Staff were pleasant. Totally overpriced. Location great.
