Place Not Available Like Listed

We were disappointed and frustrated by the communication of the host. We were not told that our reservation was not valid until we were at the front door waiting to check in. We believe there were multiple opportunities to communicate that they needed to cancel our reservation instead of waiting until we were at the location. We paid in full weeks prior to arrival and we did get a refund but the inconvenience was frustrating and we had to find another place to stay last minute.
