A room without a view

Purchased the cheapest (windowless) room. Location-wise it was perfect for Shoreditch that night and Liverpool Street station the following morning. Reception staff were friendly. The room was clean and compact but you could hear noise from the corridor.

Literally the worst night of sleep I’ve had in years. I had a windowless room which is totally fine as was a crash pad for a few hours, and yet for some absurd reason there was a fake window with some sort of light simulation behind it. The light was like daylight and on all night, and the pathetic curtain did nothing. I don’t think I actually slept. On top of this the room felt like it was in a building site - with many of the surrounding rooms being apparently refurbished.

Checked in after a long day of trains and train delays and it couldn’t have been any easier! Went straight to the check in desk and despite having issues with getting the room we booked for the team got us into a different room and provided breakfast free of charge due to the inconvenience. Friendly staff and an overall clean building and room. Definitely recommend if you’re staying in Shoreditch.

I stayed at Point A Hotel in Shoreditch this week and overall had a decent experience. The room was clean, and I appreciated that the air conditioning worked well—definitely a plus during warmer days. I also liked the different lighting colour options in the room, which added a nice, modern touch. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which made a positive difference. That said, there were a few downsides. The TV was a letdown—none of the regular channels worked, and although YouTube was available, it had frequent loading issues. The room was also quite small, which might not be ideal for longer stays or if you’re travelling with more than one bag. Lastly, I wish the hotel was located closer to a Tesco or similar shop. It wasn’t easy to find a nearby place to buy fruit or drinks, which would’ve made things more convenient. Overall, it’s a clean and well-maintained hotel with great staff, ideal for short stays, but there’s room for improvement in terms of room features and location convenience.

There was work going on at the hotel on our floor and we were next to where the contractors were based. It was noisy when we got there, but we let that go. However at 6.45 in the morning the contractors were back and were making a lot of noise. Why were we put in a room in an area where there was working going on? We were not impressed!

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a fantastic experience. The rooms were exceptionally clean and modern, with stylish decor and all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The housekeeping staff clearly takes pride in their work — everything felt fresh and well-maintained. One of the biggest highlights is the location. It’s incredibly convenient to a variety of bars, restaurants, and public transportation options. Whether I wanted to grab a quick bite, enjoy a night out, or hop on a train to explore the city, everything was just steps away. If you’re looking for a hotel that’s both comfortable and centrally located, this one is a great choice. I’ll definitely be back!
