Not terrible, but not great

The hotel itself was fine. Wasn’t expecting to share it with field workers, but I’m used to that through my job. Odd signs like, “be gentle with the elevator buttons. It takes a long time for someone to come fix them” was a possible indication of the type of guests that stay there. The pool was not available, apparently being renovated. Hotel store surprisingly small. Something black was leaking out from behind light fixtures and switches in our bathroom. Had to have been recent because you’d think they’d have cleaned or painted over it already.

This place is in a great location in Kilgore. WIthin walking distance (1 mile) from the Texas Shakespeare Festival at Kilgore College, downtown, and restaurants.

The staff could not have done more for me, friendly cooperative helpful. The TV was giant--too bad it did not work. Reservations were a huge pain in the arse. An adventure in unnecessary frustration. EXPEDIA inserted themselves in the process obstructing everything. Could not enter my hotel membership card. Could not access the two discounts I had. In the end, when I signed out I was given a receipt with NO AMOUNT on it. How much did it cost me? I think I should dispute it with my credit card company. What do you think?
