Food was horrible!!! For an all inclusive.. the food needs to improve

Extremely close to the airport, great to not waste any time getting there but it was very loud with planes constantly arriving and departing. Our balcony view was of the casino and airport so not pleasing and very loud. We were mislead and thought we could access the entire property including the ocean point section. Sadly we were stuck in the family section with the sub par pools. It was cool to offer pool slides but they were a huge eyesore. The dining offered to the Macho beach section was okay, many dinners it was hard to find something enjoyable to eat. We often left the resort for better food and entertainment. It was not easy to find live music or activities on our section of resort. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating. The WiFi was amazing, and strong enough to be used at the beach which was a pleasant surprise. The location of the resort was easy to get cabs and explore other areas of the beautiful island.

The stay was great. The staff were great. The bar tenders at the pool bar seem to be a little overwhelmed at times but overall it was great.

The staff is amazing. Area is safe and have lots of dinning area, clubs and casinos with in walking distance. Hotel is clean and the food is great. The beach is wonderful with silky sand. My rm qas 344 over looking the pool. Room super clean, bed is comfortable and lots of pillows qnd closet space. Safe in room. And bathroom ventilation. AC was good, no water pressure problem.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We have been staying at Sonesta for the past 7 years and the service and quality has gone WAY down. It is not what it used to be. The worst parts were the service people and the food was absolutely terrible. The people who work here are NOT HAPPY AT ALLLLL. I mean, they don't even crack a smile. The only friendly person we encountered were the ladies that serve water & drinks at the buffet. Everyone (and I mean everyone) acted as if they were beyond miserable. The bartenders would roll their eyes at patrons, including myself and just seemed to absolutely despise their jobs. I was unable to take a shower one day, because there was literally no hot water (all day), and I don't mean luke warm water...it would literally turn off, if you turned it to the warm/hot setting. It's like pulling an arm & a leg to get water. It's ridiculous and totally unacceptable for the amount of money this resort charges. If you are looking for a nearby hotel, stay at The Morgan. We will never be back to Sonesta. Sad to say that, but never again. It was horrible! :(
