I was really excited about coming here to stay as we were looking for a traditional bed and breakfast in the Swiss Mountains (as advertised) and this was the only moderately priced place in the region. then we found out why! While it’s cute and clean, there is no real service or hotel hospitality. It does feel a bit like a hostel. The bathrooms in the room are basically a public stall with no privacy if anyone else is in the room. There is no one to greet you for check in and the staff is only around until 11am. So if you’d like more pillows or towels, as is fair when staying in a hotel or bed & breakfast (as opposed to an Airbnb or hostel) there is literally no way to ask for anything. There was a sign saying that no one enters to clean the room etc unless asked, but we came to find a note left for us in the room while i had personal belongings out. That made us feel a bit uncomfortable.
There was a bit of a scuffle when we checked out and the service was quite cold, rude, and unwelcoming. We wanted to add another person to our reservation or add a cot at least, (as it says rooms sleep up to 3 on their website) but as there is no one around to accommodate at the accommodations…there was an issue.
Again service felt very dismissive and condescending, but the owner said that “self check-in” is in the name of the hotel. The name is “Emma’s Hotel Bed & Breakfast” when I booked. She had apparently counted the towels we used when they came into the room? Of course we used the towe
