The Cottage: This great new house is in a great location. Located down a small cul-de-sac on the Mulranny/Achill road, it is perfect for discovering Achill island as well as Mulranny and Westport. It is also located right beside the Greenway Cycle route, so you could plan a cycling holiday from the house – cycle to Achill and spend a day exploring the beautiful beaches, cycle to Westport and spend the day in this beautiful town or head into Westport house with something for everyone to enjoy. If cycling isn’t your thing, why not enjoy one of the great Burrishoole looped walks or the many hill walks close by. Or you could of course just chill out in the house and take in the sea views!

Inside: This recently built luxurious house is finished to a high standard and is bright and airy. Being down a cul de sac it is also lovely and quiet. You enter into a large hallway. To your left you have a large Kitchen/Dining room that is the width of the house. This kitchen is complete with all modern appliances and just off this you will find a utility room with washing machine, dryer and a toilet. In the kitchen you will also find patio doors with sea views and a TV. Also downstairs you will find a large sitting room to the front of the house with plenty of seating, TV and a solid fuel stove to enjoy. Further down the corridor you will find a family bathroom and 2 Double rooms – one of which is ensuite. Upstairs you will find 2 more double ensuite bedrooms with walk in wardrobes. The master bedroom has great views of the sea. All the bedrooms have King size beds

Everything was excellent communication from Rory was fantastic.The online pictures dont do it justice. The views sunsets and achill we absolutely stunning. The house is absolutely huge and really well appointed and well equipped. Thankyou for a great stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in the Gatehouse. It was a quiet and relaxing location with great views. The common areas and bedrooms of the house were spacious and comfortable. We'd highly recommend it. It was particularly convenient for us as we have family close by.

Online photos don't do this house justice

The house is immaculate, quiet and in a lovely location. The internal online photos don't do it justice. It's right on The Greenway for walking and cycling from the front door and is well placed for days out on Achill Island. The lovely soft towels were the best we had on our travels round Ireland!

Very modern house, with all amenities. Greenway just at your door. Host was extremely helpful and just at the other end of the phone, if needed. Very short distance to fabulous beaches, walking and cycling trails, and restaurants. Will be back.

Excellent!

We stayed in Gatehouse by the Greenway in June and, despite the not brilliant weather, had a fantastic time. This was our second time staying in this house and it did not disappoint. The accommodation is perfect - bedrooms are great size, beds are comfortable, enough storage and the kitchen and living room are great. The addition of a coffee machine since last year was welcomed by the coffee drinkers among us! The location is just spot on - a lovely easy cycle to Achill Sound and a bit further to Mulranney but the whole Greenway on the doorstep makes it so special. The views are amazing - even in the rain! - and the hares who come to breakfast in the garden were a highlight for our 6 year old! Rory is very pleasant to deal with and was very approachable. We would highly recommend Gatehouse by the Greenway to anyone and hope to be back again some day!

Perfect home near Achill, amazing sea views, brand new home, fantastic experience.

We stayed in this home for six nights in June of 2022 - it was one of three self service homes we used during a trip to Ireland. This was by far our best experience of the three. (Unsurprisingly, the worst of the three was our one airbnb booking). This home feels brand new. It is beautiful inside, with a sensible functional layout. We had six people in the home (My wife and I, my father in law, and our three kids, aged 3/5/7) and the home worked great for the whole family. The bedrooms are large, comfortable, and well decorated. The common spaces (sitting room, kitchen, dining room) are similarly in great shape, and the separate mud room/laundry room was very useful as our family was in the sand or mud almost every day of our stay. We put the washer and dryer to work, and they were very helpful. The location of this home is unmatched - the Great Western Greenway is literally in your front yard, and most of the home has beautiful views of the sea and the beautiful wild Mayo countryside. We wanted to experience the beauty of Mayo, and this home delivered everything we had hoped for in that regard. While the home is in a rural location (in the small village of Tonragee near Achill Island) we had very easy access to stores, restaurants, and other amenities in both Achill and Mallaranny only a few minutes away. Rory was a helpful, friendly, and accommodating host, and we were very happy to work with him. I cannot say enough good things about this home. It is frankly underpriced at the moment - beautiful large home, perfect location, fantastic experience for our trip to Ireland.
