Lovely house and friendly host

Amazing - would definitely recommend!
Posted Sep. 3, 2023 on HomeAwayMyself and 14 friends stayed at Maria’s lovely property, communication was fantastic before and during the stay, we even got to pick the fruit and vegetables from the orchard. Maria also very kindly showed us how to make pizza dough and we got to use the pizza oven which was epic! The 30 minute walk to Manziana is doable (we did the walk and then 1hr train to Vatican City) but scary in the dark, so I definitely recommend 1 car for food shops. We also made the 1.5hr walk to Lake Braccino one day, it was lovely but lots and lots of bugs, and at times there were quite a few mozzys around the pool and bbq area - so buy mozzy spray. Overall we had an amazing time, and we recommend this to everyone who wants a fun holiday with a lovely view, lots of outdoor areas and local activities.

Magical Family Vacation
Posted Jul. 16, 2023 on HomeAwayWe can't say enough about how special our stay was. Maria met us at the door after a long flight and slog through the Rome airport. She took us through the house and then led us through a pre-arranged pasta lesson! It was the perfect way to start our first day in Italy.
We had one nonna and two families (kids aged 8-17) and our uncle, aunt and cousin joined later with a brief overlap. Many of our 9 person group had been to the area before but our four kids had not, and they loved the house! They especially loved the pool and ping pong table.
We found it to be perfect, with plenty of space for everyone. We were worried about being there in June/July without AC but it was comfortable with fans and beautifully fresh air at night. The dishwasher and washing machine were a big help too.
The property is enchanting, with the show stopping pool & an olive grove below. Large zucchinis and fragrant basil grew in the garden. The rooms were comfortable and large (beds good too) & the bathrooms were a good size by Italian standards. One thing to note: get a rental car that can handle some of the country roads because the road to Lake Bracciano can be quite bumpy!
We were there to see our Italian side of the family and host them comfortably. Maria and her team cooked a great lunch for us and our local family one day. She taught us how to use the pizza oven and made dough for us as well.
She made our trip truly magical and we hope to be back someday soon!

Lovely villa for family
Posted Aug. 21, 2022 on HomeAwayWe were a large group of 13 with multiple ages of kids and adults. Lots of great space and the pool was lovely. Definitely need a hire car to go anywhere. Very good links into Rome from the village station. Maria was super helpful through the lead up helping me source hire vans and airport transfers and much more reasonable prices and also helped us when we got a puncture. She also gave us a selection of fresh fruit and veg from the garden on arrival. There are lots of things to remember on checking in which are not all written down so I would suggest writing down the instructions to make it easy to remember. A great place for large groups and well kitted out for lots of people. Thanks for a lovely stay 😊

Great for a family holiday
Posted Aug. 25, 2020 on HomeAwaySpacious and comfortable. I stayed with my wife, our 3 children, their spouses and our 6 grandchildren - 14 in all - and we were well accommodated.
The house and pool are great. Lake Bracciano is in easy reach and there are plenty of bars and restaurants locally.
No problems. Would definitely go again if the opportunity arises.

Amazing house, lovely location, accommodating host

Great villa
Posted Aug. 1, 2019 on HomeAwayWe booked this villa for a week in July 2019. There were 13 of us and we all had a fantastic time there. The house is spacious and the garden and outside areas are so nice and peaceful. Not once did it feel crowded in there!
The pool was brilliant and we spent a lot of time in there. In our party was 2 children aged 3 and 7 and both loved the pool. We used the gas barbecue which was great and sat out in the gardens to eat in the sun. It was so nice to have the family together in this beautiful setting.
What I would say is to book a rental car like we did as the house is a bit out of the way and some of our party had trouble getting taxis from Manziana centre when the car wasn't available! Manziana is a lovely town with a really authentic feel to it.
The train to Rome takes about 50 minutes from there and costs 3.60 euros return with the station in Rome being 15 min from the vatican. The station was about a 5 min drive from the villa so with a car it's easy and convinient to get there.
Maria was a great host who welcomed us and talked us through everything upon arrival and left us with some food and drinks to help. I would definitely recommend this house!

Our trip to Italy
Posted Jun. 1, 2019 on HomeAwayOur trip to Italy was extremely enjoyable, and the villa was incredible. Maria’s hospitality and assistance in all aspects - recommendations for travel into Rome, food and activities - made things really simple for our large group (three families, including 5 kids). The home was clean, warm and welcoming to the point we felt like we’d always been there. Situated in the quiet countryside, the home is remote enough for privacy yet close enough (10min drive) to great amenities and scenic towns. Kitchen is well stocked with great cooking supplies and crockery; easy 45min drive to Rome city centre. Hofhly recommended for families traveling in groups.

Il Ciliegio in a word, great!

A very spacious house with several places to withdraw. Around the house is the garden where you can choose sun or shade. Cooling is done in the lovely pool. There are more than enough pans and crockery. We were allowed to pick the tomatoes, figs and apples from the garden. Maria is a friedly lady and has tips for you ready. We have been here one week with 8 people and we found it very unfortunate that the week was over. It's easy to take the train to Rome. Also in the area is sufficient to be seen to not get bored. However, you need to bring a car.

Beautiful holiday close to Rome

The communication with Maria was very good and friendly. We could also always contact her if we needed anything.
The house with its property including a swimming pool is very big and comfortable and perfect for groups and families! There is even an original stone pizza oven which we can only recommend for making pizza. We were allowed to eat fruit and vegetables from the garden which was great as well. And you wont get bored for sure with a table tennis and table soccer included :)
We enjoyed our stay very much and can recommend it 100%!
