The hotel was under renovations and was closed we were put in a small place next door which was very noisy from road and restaurant across the road.we believe that they should have let us know that they were renovating so we could have booked a different hotel.Hotels.com should not have been booking this place. We will not be using them again

The Mariana is a decent appartment for the price but the old photos of the previous Mariana on line should be taken down from the website as that hotel is now under renovations and is giving a false presentation to prospective clients. Housekeeping only come by every few days as is an appartment but should leave extra trash bags and some cleaning supplies for tenents.

Sleeping under a bridge is safer and more comfort

The Hotel Marriana is situated on a entrance right on the beuatiful beach of Mazatlan. This is where the positive aspects of this overpriced dump end. The said walkway isnt maintained by anyone so broken glass food waste garbage, flies, rats and mice and homeless men escort you for the 50 yards to get to the beach which is quite nice once you escape the dirty vicinity of the Mariana. We had the suite with efficiency although the word efficiency seems an entirely ironic description. The stove had a non functional oven and a falling apart stove which requires matches to light and is badly stained enough to warrant replacement in the previous century. The vinyl couches were reminicent of prison furniture parked 3 feet in front of a computer monitor TV that was near the cieling and 17 inches wide. Dont plan on working here on two issues. The wifi stays up for 15 minute periods and requires constant fiddling to get anything to work. The other account is the noise which I will further ellaborate on later and also the lack of privacy. The sitting area has rusted out chirs that the feet have simply rot away, leaving them unbalanced, uncomfortable and scraping on the aged sunworn tiles. The place is filled with older folks that are long term and somewhat protective as the "greatest generation" can be. Every nursing home guest on our floor was a smoker of menthol cigarettes from Canada so the sea air was indistiguishable from a Saturday night legion
