Beautiful property, poor communication

This is a beautiful home with spacious lawn and lots of outdoor space. Communication was poor from the beginning as questions asked with booking were not answered for weeks. Temperature in home was difficult to manage. Upstairs bedrooms were very warm and basement bedrooms were very cold. The room with 7 beds had no extra blankets. The thermostat has a lock on it but we were not allowed to have the code. We had to notify the owner/manager every time we wanted to adjust the thermostat and he would then adjust it remotely. This felt awkward and uncomfortable. The home has no paper towels, napkins or tissues. Fixtures and furniture are lovely and porches and patios make peaceful spaces to gather. Driveway is removed from front door so unloading cars requires a lot of walking back and forth. Hot tub is very nice. Kitchen is well-stocked. There is also an extra house right next to the house being rented. The shades were drawn and we didn’t see anyone there but in the pictures we had thought it was a garage.

Very very nice, missing touches

The property was very nice physically, everything in the listing was accurate. Beds were good, hot tub was very nice. A few small issues keep it from being 5 star. There was nothing in the kitchen except salt and pepper and a tiny bit of coffee. No ice trays, no water pitcher, so the only water to drink was straight out of the tap. There was not enough soap, and the property manager basically told us "sorry, not coming out to fix that." One upstairs bathroom had extremely low water pressure. Finally, there was only enough dish detergent to run the dishwasher twice, and we had 14 people there. We had to run the dishwasher multiple times a day just to have enough dishes, so we had to go out and buy our own detergent.

Great getaway

The property is beautiful, private, and great for families. Ample seating. Adults enjoyed the wide porches. The bunk room was perfect for their kids. Plenty of Open space to gather. Kids enjoyed the games. Nice layout. Be sure to ask about the hot tub because when we got there we could find no instructions and it had been turned down to 80°. The display appeared stuck. I reached out to the host and they responded quickly, but would’ve been nice if the hot tub instructions were posted somewhere. Also, the pillow situation was not great.

We had no soap or shampoo that surprised us. The kitchen sink had problems. Some of our group got sores that we think we may have got from the hot tub. Other than that, the setup made for a fun time. We hope you are pleased with the way we left it.

Very Spacious

This place is great for larger groups. Lots of bathrooms. Many places to sit and gather for events. If you have someone with mobility issues, proceed with caution. Some of the areas are not as accessible and could be dangerous if someone is not there to help them.

Perfect in every way

This house and property was perfect for our large group. Everyone had a bed and the big kids fit comfortably in the bunk room. We brought our own slow cookers to ensure a nice hot meal waited for us when we returned to the house from our adventures. The trail that runs through the property was great for a morning run or an easy hike and we all shared some good laughs around the campfire at night. The best way to end our days hiking in the nearby state parks was in the immaculate hot tub. We all enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.

Love this property!

From the start communication was wonderful with the owners. They even offered put up a few birthday decorations because I told them we were coming for a family weekend for my mom’s 60th birthday. Every time I reached out before the trip and once during I was answered with in the hour. The property it’s self was beautiful and the cabin pictures do no do it justice. If we are back in the area we will happily stay here again. I highly recommend!

Beautiful and spacious

Perfect rental for large families

We enjoyed our weekend here! The house is very spacious and clean. The kitchen was exactly what we needed to prepare a Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner. It was nice to have the two living areas right next to the kitchen where everyone could be together. Plenty of space for sleeping for our family if 12. John was a great host and very responsive to any questions! We would love to come back!

Awesome Retreat Location
