Rocktown Retreat is a beautifully appointed and immaculately clean vacation home located in the heart of the Massanutten Resort. The property offers a calm and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The home is well-equipped with all the necessary amenities and thoughtful little details that make for a memorable stay.

The layout and spacious design of the house are ideal for accommodating larger groups, such as multiple families or groups of friends. With ample room and plenty of indoor entertainment options, guests will not feel cramped, even with a full house. The home is conveniently located, with easy access to the various activities and attractions within the Massanutten Resort, including easy access to the ski slopes, golf courses and indoor water park, which are only a 3-5 minute drive away.

The hosts, David and Laurie, are highly responsive and friendly, ensuring a smooth booking process and a pleasant stay for the guests. They provide a detailed guidebook with helpful information about the property and the surrounding area. They are easy to get in touch with, communicate well, which is so much nicer than dealing with a property managment company that never seems to really care. David and Laurie definetly care about your stay going well.

We love dogs and know how special and comforting it is to have them travel with you. Rocktown Retreat is perfect for them. Upon checkout, please ensure that all messes are picked up and disposed of.

While we won’t be nearby physically, we are available typically from 7:30 am - 10:00 pm to answer any questions promptly. Outside of those hours, we will be a bit slower to reply.

Whether you want to bring your kids to explore the waterpark and the ski slopes or enjoy a day on the golf course, there are ample activities to enjoy in and around the resort.
Massanutten Resort has numerous activities to keep every age busy! During the winter months, guests of all ages can hit the slopes to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and tubing. There is a ski school for beginners and tubing for young guests. In the summer months, guests can enjoy ziplining, a water park, mountain biking, and 2 golf courses. During the fall, enjoy the fall foliage on numerous hiking trails and fishing on one of the resort's ponds. Springtime is a great time to enjoy the Escape Room or hit the golf course for a round of golf.

Very nice property that suited my party of 10 (5 adults and 5 children). Property was clean and had most everything we needed enjoy our visit. Since we planned to eat in every meal, the kitchen had a lot of extra items which was nice. I would definitely stay there again.

Perfect Spot for a Friends and Family Trip

My friends and I had a great stay! The house was clean, comfortable, and had a very homey feel that made it easy to relax. Communication with the owners was quick, understanding, and friendly. Great location to the slopes, very clean and just as shown in the listing. Kids/young adults had their own space downstairs with the game room. Beautiful views! Loved the outside seating with the gas fire pit. Will definitely be renting this house again.

An impeccable and quiet space

We really enjoyed our stay at this very updated and cozy house. The house was well stocked with items and had a very comfortable check-in process. We really enjoyed the amenities the house provided, and the QUIET back porch. My only criticism is that this house does not comfortably sleep 10 adults, as there are only 3 beds, and 2 bunk beds.

It has an open floor plan with bedrooms on the main level and a bedroom, bathroom, and huge game/living area downstairs. This worked perfectly for our family and pets. David was also very responsive. Family weekend for JMU pre-spring break

Lovely, clean, comfortable & great location. Massenutten is a beautiful area and not too far from JMU. The resort has a lot of amenities to take advantage of. House had great decor and lots of fun games for chilling and silly family time! Host were very attentive. Thank you! Could have used a couple more towels, appreciated the extra blankets, and fans. Rocktown Retreat Rocks!

The house is so comfy, clean, and pristine with everything you need for a delightful getaway. The weather turned to rain instead of snow but that didn’t slow down the fun. My teenage sons and their older cousins had a blast doing competitions in the game room. We made wonderful memories! The owner, David, was great to coordinate with and we appreciated the flexibility and options to prolong our stay. Rocktown Retreat rocks and we hope to be staying there again soon.

Weekend getaway

We had an amazing weekend stay at Rocktown Retreat. During the booking process, the host was quick to respond and very helpful. He even sent a guidebook with recommendations to local restaurants. We tried 3 of the restaurants and none of them disappointed! The house is even more stunning in person! It is clean, spacious and inviting. When we weren’t busy enjoying all the attractions Massanutten has to offer, we stayed in, played pool, watched movies in front of the warm fire place, and sat out on the deck watching the abundance of wildlife in the woods behind the house. Overall we had great little trip and I highly recommend this property.

Clean, Comfortable, & Overall AMAZING Rental!!!

My friends and I stayed here during the Labor Day weekend and we couldn’t have asked for a better rental to spend our time in! The rooms, bathrooms, living spaces were all extremely clean. There was plenty of dinning and kitchenware that were provided for us to use which made cooking and eating really easy. Other than the clean kitchen/dinning area, we spent a lot of time in the basement since it was cozy and there were plenty of activities (pool table, ping pong, tv, etc) for us to enjoy. Lastly, David (host) was very responsive to all my questions and helpful throughout our time here. Overall, this was an amazing rental with an amazing host. Highly recommend!!!

JMU Graduation Weekend Stay

Our family (7 adults a variety of ages) stayed three nights at this lovely property. We were there to celebrate our son's graduation from JMU. The house was clean, as advertised and the owners always communicated quickly, clearly and were very helpful. Check-in was also a breeze. The property was peaceful and perfect for people of all ages - the downstairs was a great hangout for the younger crowd with ping pong, pool table, TV and other games. We did a lot of our own cooking and needed to buy a few extra pans and kitchen items - there were some limits on what was stocked in the house. I would highly recommend this house and we would come back. Thanks for helping us make a great lifelong memory in this lovely mountain home!
